I picked this book up from a second hand shop and expected it to be more of a theological/historical/anthropological text, but it was mostly a guide to meditation/contemplation on different Bible verses and writings of Catholic saints. I'm really excited to go through some of the meditations more deeply. I enjoyed and agreed with the premise, really enjoyed the section on Sophia/Wisdom (recognizing a feminine God as being fundamentally oriented towards wisdom and justice) but oftentimes I felt there was an over emphasis on pregnancy, labor, breastfeeding and biological motherhood in a way that I felt reenforced limited views of both women (restricting the feminine to just cisgender women who are fertile/act on that fertility/breastfeed etc) and God in a way that undermined their goal.
