A guide for visitors and residents, this book begins with an overview of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. It discusses the economy, demographics, environment, culture, and necessary facts for travelers. It describes places to stay and methods to get around. A detailed section follows, which focuses on everything one needs to know for life in Dubai. It includes licences, finding work, housing, utilities and services, health, education and transportation. The section titled Exploring Dubai features museums, heritage and culture, parks and beaches, tours, sightseeing, racing and amusement parks. Many activities are described, such as most sports, health spas, leisure facilities and clubs and classes. Extensive suggestions for shopping and dining complete the guide.
I've been researching the idea of a possible relocation to Dubai, UAE & bought this to help learn about the place. This guide is pretty expansive, detailing the various sections of the city, what there is to do, the culture, the costs of living, the job market, a bit of the bureaucracy (although I understand that Dubai Red Tape is the go-go guide for that particular topic) & does answer alot of questions a foreigner may have, whether you are actually looking to move there or are simply interested in visiting.
