This story (Blood Hunt) could be one of those turned into a common adventure movie with an unlikely mix of people becoming entangled through unsuspected links. Drawing the interest of a capable and dangerous man does not go the way some powerful people expected. It only stretches credulity a few times and it maintains a good pace. Some of the “back story” chapters could have been shorter, but they were still entertaining. The ending was fairly predictable – including a literal cliff-hanger – and felt a little bit rushed after the build up through the novel. I recommend this adventure novel.

I listened to Blood Hunt on CD. There is no listing for the single book, only this 3 in 1 so I only read the one. It's a good plot and the star is a real macho hero type trying to learn what happened to his brother. I like him. I give it only 3 stars because there is no real closure for anything except the death of his brother's murderer. We have to assume and guess. I wanted to learn that all the bad guys got taken down.

This book was written as Jack Harvey. It is a fast-passed thriller taking place in the UK, France and the USA. It's a mystery that turns into a man-hunt. Although this book involves many brutal killings and I'm much more a 'cozy' mystery reader, the killings were quick and therefore the story moved on quickly. It's definitely a page-turner.

Some authors write to confuse people thinking that is good literature but not me, 60 pages and done.

Didn't finish it as I found the stories boring, tedious and predictable - not read any Ian Rankin before and won't be reading any more in the future

What can you say about a Rankin book? Great story with fascinating facts about how the SAS operate.
Story holds you and you have to stay with it.

Everything a book should be.

Should have been good but it was slow and the insertion of the philosophical quotes from nietzsche just felt bizarre.

My volume is only of Blood Hunt by Rankin. Fast moving story and should be a quick read.
A different kind of Rankin story, less a mystery than more a pursuit and latter day Western with participants setting traps for each other. Traps to kill and hide the corporate malfeasance which forms the basis for the initial murder which was originally thought to be a suicide. Action takes place in several locales including Great Britain, the US and France. Not a lot of character development just good old adventure and somewhat predictable action. In all, a nice story but not anything special.

I actually picked up this writer because of a quiz telling me that DI Remus was my ideal man. So not disappointed. Enjoyed every story and will be checking out more of Mr. Rankin.
