Everyday life is loud with ringing phones, blaring TVs, and yelling children. Women find themselves longing for time away from it all so they can really hear God. “But when I pored over the pages of Scripture,” says author Sharon Jaynes, “I discovered that some of God’s most memorable messages were not delivered while men and women were away on a spiritual retreat, but right in the middle of everyday life. He spoke to Gideon while he was threshing wheat and to shepherds while they were watching their flocks by night.” Using wit, Southern charm, and wisdom, Sharon invites women everywhere to explore answers to the heartcry, “How can I hear the voice of God?” Includes helpful study guide.
I read this book and just absolutely found her style of writing to be many things. This is a woman who truly knows the Lord. She is also the President of Proverbs 31 Ministries. I can see why. I found this book to be very touching. Alot of things one can relate to. Easy to understand and very heart felt. This book is funny, warm, and done very tastefully. Any woman who is interested in seeking a Long, Loving Relationship, needs to read this one. Beautiful.
Loved it, especially the Bible study section in the back. This book has helped me in an area where I’ve struggled...praying to be led by God in my decisions instead of making decisions on my own and then praying that God would bless them.
For devotional/reflective books, I love the works by Sharon Jaynes. This must be my 4th or so book from her. She digs in, writes smoothly, and connects with her readers.
Sharon Jaynes uses many personal stories to illustrate truths about becoming a woman who listens to God. These examples are clear and easy to understand.
