Excellent! It was no small wonder that Breathless won the RT Book Reviewers Award for Best Harlequin Blaze in 2002 as it was, and still is, a terrific read. Of course, I haven't read all the Blaze titles in 2002 but if you had to read one, I'm guessing Breathless would be it.

Sophie, our heroine, is beautiful and sexy, funny and easily disoriented, and has great chemistry with the hero, Detective Blake Barker. Blake is distracted by Sophie and the adventure they get into keeps you turning the pages. What a great story! Such an excellent romance! I would definitely read Breathless again. Did I mention it was blazing hot already? No? Well, then..

Examine the cover closely. After reading Breathless, you will WANT to go to the opera if Tristan and Isolde is one of your local company's performances this season or any season going forward. If your husband has ever followed you into the ladies room you probably know what I'm talkin' about. Look at that cover again, I swear that's an elegant ladies room mirror and Blake's there... and I better stop because it's gettin hot in here! lol

I'm sorry I'm raving but I enjoyed Breathless immensely. A great story that stands the test of time.

P.S. Harlequin should definitely re-release this title instead of those 3-star ones they like putting out and charging top dollar for. NW's Breathless would most definitely justify that double digit price.

L’attrazione fra i protagonisti è abbastanza interessante e i loro caratteri formano un bel mix, ma la trama è troppo incentrata sulla lotta a una banda di criminali e mi passa la voglia di proseguire. Peccato.

Well, I love the heroine's name. ;) Anway, this is very well written for a Harlequin Blaze. The chemistry and interaction are much more realistic ~ they don't play dumb mind games with each other, or act like petty children. Although Sophie tries to convince herself that the attraction is purely physical, she's not afraid to embrace it, and not as a total sexual freak or bitch. She has a sweet vulnerability to her that I liked, but in a normal way, not exaggerated for effect. Very subtle writing, and witty. Oh, and the attraction and sex is hot and heavy. Loved this book.
