The Doomsday Warrior series was a post-apocalyptic men's adventure series that ran for nineteen volumes from 1984 - 1991. The first four books were collaborations between Jan Stacy and Ryder Syvertsen (hence the pseudonym), and the other fifteen were written by Syverstsen alone. The series is set a hundred years in the future, after Russia has defeated the US and now occupies it. Ted Rockson is the leader of a secret loose resistance consortium called the Free Cities. This fifth volume, the first written solely by Syvertsen, follows the formulaic pattern which ruled the rest of the way. Ted is coming home from an encounter with the Russians along with a companion. They have a fight with a sea monster, some killer flowers, and are taken captive by a band of Amazons who use them as sex toys. Then the real trouble starts when they learn that the Russians are sending an army of 600,000 Nazis to wipe out the threat of the Free Cities for once and for all. The Glowers return in their flying saucers, and it gets weird after that... Ted and his friends have gotten used to fighting the evil oppressive commies, and this one is no different, but a little less plausible and a little more cartoonish. It's a very patriotic series, typical for the Zebra men's adventure line in the '80s, with non-stop action, cartoon plots, and very conservative political views. It was a fun series if you didn't expect too much. It's like sweet and salty snack food with no nutrition that you can't help but keep munching just because it's there.

This time out, Ted Rockson, The Doomsday Warrior is faced with fighting off 600,000 German Nazi Communists??? It all starts with him and a fellow warrior returning to America from Russia. They kill a sea creature. Fight off killer flowers and become sex slaves for a race of amazon warriors who need children. All that in the first 80 pages. The Rock is a busy and tired man.

The hated Russians form a group of resurrected Aryan creeps to fly the Nazi flag once more to kill the Doomsday Warrior and take out Century City that he uses for a home base. The Glowers, a race of ultra radiated humans show up in their flying ships to join the battle. Some pretty off the wall stuff here.

It was something else to see Rock so down near the end. This may be an over the top action pack hero type book but it's nice to see some deeper character development.

Mans worst nightmare to be used as a sexual toy. My guess was wrong Ted loses a love interest. The techies lost via a bomb. Ted kills like the weapons he carries. The german war machine loses again to the USA. Ted and the light beings suffer many deaths via their mind connections. Ted continues to avoid the grim reaper.
