Three years in compilation, the second collection by London-based poet, Angela Edgar promises to be a roller-coaster ride. Much awaits the reader as they navigate through 54 poems in CINNAMON AND SIN.
In a selection for the mature connoisseur, Cinnamon takes you on a sensual and erotic journey through pieces such as ‘Her Lips’, ‘In The Lobby’ and ‘Chocolate Boy Surprise’.
Whilst Sin tackles some deep content with a few poems loosely based on real-life events in ‘Why Didn’t You Help Me?’ and the emotionally charged, ‘Bring Them Back’ and ‘I Know Where’.
Angela Edgar lives in London, England. Currently in-training for a secret new career... she lives for writing poetry, loves learning new things and hosting her yearly 30 day National Poetry Month celebratory writing exercise called The April Write.
“Cinnamon & Sin” is a collection of poetry from Angela Edgar that deals with an array of emotions. The book is split in two sections. The ‘Cinnamon’ side deals with the positive side in us. The ‘Sin’ side deals with the naughty, sexual, and hurtful side of us or things we have dealt with in our lives.
This is my second read by this author. The other read, “April Write,” was a book of daily writing that aimed at becoming a better writer. With this collection of poetry, I was definitely able to see the growth of the author. There were some poems in this collection that brought me to tears, but that is one of the reasons I love poetry. Poetry has the ability to bring out emotions that you may have kept hidden inside.
This book has been a labour of love and has taken three years for me to collate and write, but I hope you will agree with me that it will be worth the wait...
Split into two parts, 'Cinnamon' takes you on a sugary sweet, sensuously light journey, whilst 'Sin' dives deep into the darkest recesses of the soul with some pieces loosely entrenched in reality.

I'll edit this review a bit more later, but for now my main impressions are:
This author is very talented, a bit repetitive but most of the time it is a good thing. The poetry was wonderful and had lots of variety. The CD it came with made me want to hear the author read more of her work (the tracks on my CD were all out of order in comparison to the track list it came with, but I figured it out). The book itself did not give the authors work justice though. The cover art is great but the rest of it (the title and picture of the author) looks very unprofessional and like a high schooler designed it and when I first opened the book the pages started falling out. This book was so good, but it REALLY needs better quality publishing.
