If you've read this far into the series, you likely know what to expect from Heaven's Design Team - short, episodic scenes which explore the quirks and designs of individual animals, with relatively little in the way of character development or overarching storyline. There are occasional glimpses of new lore about the setting - for example, in this volume we learn that God is the name of the company Shimoda works for in addition to being the name of God himself. Also, as a company name it stands for General Omnipotence Development company (ironically, since they apparently outsource not only all their designs but also the production of approved animal designs).
This volume ranges a bit further afield than some of the earlier ones, in that it covers things like phytoplankton, viruses, and a section about cows that focuses specifically on their effects on global warming. Overall it's still the same fun, interesting, and educational manga it's been up to this point.
