In Trapped by Impulsion, Charles Feggans’s debut novel, the author relays the story of Jack “Wilson” Wilson. After he lost his job, Wilson picked up a job as a baker in a prison. Soon, an inmate tried to get him to transport drugs into the facility, but he refused. The inmate found a way to gain Wilson’s cooperation, and it led to a steady stream of money and illegal drug movement. Feggans gives a full account of the situation that led to Jack Wilson’s arrest, his processing, hearing, and the time shortly afterward as he tries to regain control of his life.

Charles Feggans has written a book that should be seen as a warning to anyone interested in moving drugs within the confines of a state facility. The author reveals every aspect of the process, from the arrest to the food and atmosphere at the correctional institution. The book is based on a true story, and readers feel as though they are with Wilson during every part of the story. Feggans holds nothing back, as he describes Wilson’s treatment and the challenges that face him. He issues a warning to his readers that encourages them to be aware of unsavory requests and to stay away from drug propositions as they could lose their money, property, family, and friends. Trapped by Impulsion is a good selection for readers who are interested in true crime stories and are curious about the reasons people enter a life of crime.
