A great big hug in book form. Snuggle Puppy is a year-round valentine from parent to child. It is bright, chunky, a pleasure to hold, and has a die-cut cover that reveals a glimpse of the joy inside before it's even opened. Best of all, it's packed, of course, with pure Boynton: her inimitable language, her inimitable illustrations, her inimitable sense of fun.
OOO, Snuggle Puppy of mine! Everything about you is especially fine. I love what you are. I love what you do. Fuzzy little Snuggle Puppy, I love you. Featuring a sweet and cuddly doggie cast and rhyming verse, Snuggle Puppy is the perfect bedtime book to read last, because of an ending that kids will want again and again: I started with OOO. . . . Now we'll end like this: [BIG SMOOCH!]
Oversized lap edition also available—perfect for reading aloud!

Came across this little gem while doing some organizing. Without even cracking it open I can still remember the catchy tune of the main chorus.
It instantly brought me back 14/15 years ago. I would rock my daughter to sleep in my glider ~ she'd have her pointer finger in her mouth while pulling on her ear, which was her sign of being tired. Now she's taller than me and definitely won't let me rock her to sleep anymore. Luckily she's a reader and we'll sit and read together quite often. I swear I've blinked 3 times and she's almost all grown up. 😭😭😭 seriously I'm for real crying thinking about this.
I definitely recommend reading this adorable book to your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.
Any book that encourages me to kiss my son in the middle of reading it gets 5 stars from me! Seriously this is very cute and sweet. Love all the Sandra Boynton books.
If free love is your thing, Snuggle Puppy is for you.
Kids are undoubtedly going to love the silliness of the book, but somebody please send me an audio or video link for how in the name of ZEUS' BUTTHOLE you are supposed to sing the song. Because every time I try, I feel like I'm speaking English for the very first time in my life. It feels so choppy and wrong. I can't be alone in this. It's very off-putting, especially considering that you sing the damn song at least a couple times during the course of this book.
Like all of Sandra Boynton's books, it's fun and sing-songy and blessedly short. When my kids bring me one of these books, I praise God for His goodness and Sandra for writing short books. Don't get me wrong...I like reading to my kids, but at the end of a long day I just want to rest.
Snuggle puppy is all about snuggling with your kids and telling them how much you love them. If that's what you're looking for, give it a try!
Okay, THIS one is our favorite! I made up a tune to go with the words and my grandson runs to get the book whenever he hears me singing it. Gets grandma hugs and kisses every time. :-)
Cute, charming, and fun to sing. We bought this book for our firstborn maybe 2 years ago and we'll still break out in song at random (no shame). It's a fun book that gives you excuses to give your little one a nice kiss on top of their head, or into their cheek (cuz it's in the lyrics), and we got more and more dramatic with the last "Oooooooooo! I love you!" Would highly recommend.
My son got this book as a valentines gift from his grandmother, and after reading it to him once I find myself singing the song all over the house to him. He loves it! Cute little illustrations and super easy song to read (it will get stuck in your head! But that's not a bad thing.
A little love tune! There’s no preset tune to sing the story to but I found a tune came naturally. Over all cute and perfect for the little one you love!
I have never read this book or any by Sandra Boynton so I was very interested when I found it in the library to try it out, and I really did enjoy it. I really like the art work the illustrator did for this book, It really grabbed my attention and it did not have any cool art work under the dust page but that really would of been a cool addition to the book. I liked the message in the book too that no matter what happens your mother will still love you.
Our 12m baby was expressing a concerning disinterest in literature. He wasn't interested in lifting flaps, stroking textures, animal noises, songs between covers, or any of the usual gateway genres for the small set. We were concerned for his future in a hyperliterate society.
Snuggle Puppy save us! It turns out his literary genre is adoration. For a month, this was the only book he'd allow us to sing to him, complete with snuggles and kisses. Then, slowly, he started to tolerate -- and with time, appreciate -- a small shelf of books. Thank you Sandra Boynton for saving our child's future!
