Little Lass Muses:

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal, Romance, Vampire
Cover: Not that great
Thumbs: 4 Out 4 Up
Overall: It was a cool read. I can't believe it took the self-published challenge to remind me that my mom had this book. I'll read it again.
Characters: Fun, and a bit different
Plot: I Moved fast
Page Turner: Yes
Recommend: Yes
My Book Boyfriend: Cor, because he will move on and Taylor caught my eye for this brains! Intellegent guys are far between or is it few between, well in the end they are hard to by.
Most Like Me or who I want to be: Caitlyn I think is just more like me..

Little Lass Random Thoughts:

Sure the book is full of suspense I mean after all Cor is being shadowed by a creeper. But that's not what stands out the most. It's the friendship. You are lucky when you can stand in a circle and have a friend you trust will have your back to your left and right and not stab you in the back. You're lucky to have one true friend and blessed to have two. The one thing I never got was the whole numbers for name, why couldn't the author name them? Plus I hate to burst bubbles but everyone thinks this is an original story. I'm reading a book now for the TBR Pile Challenge that was published before this one with a few similar plot circumstances.

Novel Lass Reviews

To put it simply in three words “I loved it!”

Yes, I know it's not quite the red-carpet affair for one (especially me) to claim to love a book but I did. Why you ask? Straightforward, it was the point of view. Nowadays the book stores, e-store and libraries are bogged down with sups stories from the female point of view. Let’s face fact, sometimes a lady just want to know how the guy sees things. And young men need some way to relate to the young ladies other than reading Twilight, Vampire Academy and other related sups books.

I know romance from a guy’s p-o-v, who would have thought? Hey, it worked for HB’s Vladimir Todd Series as well as FM’s Bloodthirsty, and it works for Nathan Wrann’s Dark Matter Heart as well.
Additionally, it’s a clever new twist to the whole sups pop culture that every young guy can relate to (I’m speaking of the love) and every girl who loves sups stories should read.

Overall, Dark Matter Heart was a great debut that will hook all readers and the male p-o-v will definitely stand out. It contains its own unique set of characters, and a plot. Some might argue that it lends ideas from other popular books. As an avid reader I can accept that but to me all books reflect each other in some fashion. DMH is a classic tale of coming of age with a supernatural bite that even the guys will secretly love.

READ!! READ!! READ!!! What else can I say?

Our Favorite Random Quotes:

“Yes, it's true. Immaculate conception exists. I am the second coming of Christ. I have no father.”

“Things seem to be returning to normal, he thought, but couldn’t stop himself from laughing out loud when he realized he was crawling through a secret passage dirt tunnel toward a drainage pipe where an army of rats awaited to accompany him home. Normal indeed.”

“I wouldn't say I got in a lot of trouble. I got in a little bit of trouble a lot of times. Let the record reflect that it was never my fault."

By my rating, you can see that I didn't really care for this book....and here is why:

The book is primarily narrated from the point of view of the MC, and at times the author will randomly start narrating from the POV of someone else, in the middle of the page, without warning.

All the action scenes, feature...Stabbing! And Punching! And action words with exclamation points after each one!!!

On the first day of school Cor makes a friend, who of course is one of those people who know everything, how to hack into police computers and how to hack into phones, with unlimited access to lab facilities, and x-ray machines, and can do blood testing...just like every other 16 year old boy we know?

The characters personalities don't seem to stay true to themselves, at first Cor is written as this more introspective loner, who tries to stay away from everyone, and stay invisible. But the second day he's telling all his secrets to his new friend.

I didn't see the story line of the antagonist coming, there aren't really that many hints given at why he's being stalked. So that was good, the reader got a moment of the big reveal.

I felt if Cor had been given a little more depth, it would have made the book better. His character came off as cocky, I wished he would have had more feeling about some of the things going on in his life, growing up without a Dad, a more stark sense of isolation, anger at the situation, or a sense of morality and justice? Something? I think would have given this book more of a reason to be involved with the characters.

Along with some editing - no switching narratives in the middle of scenes without telling the reader!

This is a Reading Good Books review.

* In compliance with FTC guidelines, it should be noted that I received the book for free.

I came across this book while browsing several book blogs. I saw the author’s post saying that he was willing to give readers a free copy of Dark Matter Heart in exchange for a review. I figured, why not? (If you want your own copy, I will post details under the comments.)

Dark Matter Heart is the first book in the Cor Griffin Bloodsuckers Series. Our hero is Cordell “Cor” Griffin, a seemingly ordinary high school student. Together with his mother, Jane, he moves up to the Pacific Northwest from Los Angeles, California to start anew. New neighborhood, new school, new friends.

He meets Taylor on his first day of school. He also meets a pretty girl named Caitlyn. Unfortunately, being the new kid in school, he becomes the target of the bullies. Things do not become easier for Cor when strange things begin to happen. Certain people that Cor comes in contact with die. And they all have the same cause of death… all were drained of their blood. Suspicions arise when it seemed coincidental that the murders start on the day Cor moved into town.

I do not have a good track record when it comes to Young Adult stories. Especially the Paranormal subgenre. Often, I am left unaffected or give up before I even finish it. But I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It was a quick read; the story was fast-paced and direct. I like that it was very readable, the short chapters seem to add to the pace of the story. There are a couple of typos here and there but no big deal. I liked how the characters were written, Taylor mostly. I also liked Cor but it was easy for me to picture Taylor in my head.

The premise of the story is interesting. It is certainly different than most of the vampire fiction novels flooding the book shelves these days. I liked the ending a lot. It had a twist that I did not expect at all. I am interested on what will come next.

Given that is a new YA paranormal/vampire series, I understand that the author wants to establish his own canon of vampire history, e.g. Stephenie Meyer and her sparkling “vampires”. And I respect that. I might not agree with all of it but at least the author is trying to set his series apart from the others. Although, I still found myself shaking my head at some parts.

There were bits of the story that were left open-ended. I figured since this is the first book in a series that those details will continue on to the next book. I hope so. Good continuity is always a plus for me. Overall, it is a good establishing piece for a series.

Rating: 3.5/5.

Recommendation: Fans of YA vampire fiction would find that this is right up their alley. If you want to take a break from Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, give this a try.

Well I'm hooked 4.5 stars

The book starts with seventeen year old Cor Griiffin and his mother Jane relocating from LA to the Pacific Northwest for 'a new beginning' we know Cor is different, after a terrible accident when he was thirteen he's developed an extreme sensitivity to sunlight leaving him weak and sickly throughout the day and suffers from Insomnia at night, he's hoping to settle unnoticed into his new school but since he's the new kid starting mid-term who's also very pale and just somehow different chances are not good and as if that's not enough it looks like trouble's followed him from LA.
I was hooked after the first few pages and as we read we slowly begin to comprehend exactly what's happening to Cor.
I have to say I loved this book and as soon as I finished this review I'm downloading 'From Out of Chaos' why then if I loved it so much did I not give 5 stars, Caitlyn, I felt we needed more, from the information we're given her personality didn't fit with .... You'll know what I mean if you read this but for me she needed 'padding' out a bit more to make her believable and real. I also didn't particularly like the mini tantrum Jane had, again it didn't work for me but these things aside I loved this book.

I won a copy of this from Elle Casey's blog so thanks to her and the author.
Cor just wants to fit in but since his accident he cant. He is weak and sickly because of the sun and trouble just seems to find him. He moves to a new town and starts school where he just wants to be invisible. He meets Taylor and they become friends. Trouble follows Cor from LA and his life gets real complicated.
I am pleasantly surprised with Dark Matter Heart. Ive been wanting to read it since I first heard of it and saw the cover. It started off a little slow but once it got going I was hooked. It kept me guessing right up to when the killer was revealed. Cors character is such a likeable one and I found myself instantly liking him. His friendship with Taylor was awesome and Im looking forward to following it through the next few books. Id definitely recommend to lovers of paranormal and vampire stories though its not your typical vampire one.

This book is 'FANGTASTIC' !!! I am sooo happy that i read this one . What starts off as a teen / superhero movie with a new guy in town , first day at school , friends with a geek , messing with a bully and crushing on the bully's girlfriend kind of thing turns into a fast paced action thriller . Wooohoo what a ride ! Nathan Wrann is awesomeness in the making . He has this vision , this story that is driven with so many elements . And he manages to bring it out in the most uniquest of ways . The characters in this book , though not many are just sooo real . Cor or Cordell , the main lead is so unique . I mean , i hav'nt seen a guy who is in constant turmoil with himself act so cool , calm and collected . He is a loner , wants to be invisible but is very rational in his approach and i dont know i can just keep on going with his various attributes .
Dark matter heart is the story of Cor , who moves into a new town with his mom in hopes of a fresh and a new beginning .But things dont go according to plan as there is a serial killer on the lose , And somehow its all connected to Cor . Who is this killer and what are his motives ? Well , you will have to read the book to find that out .
The book is a mixture of sorts , it's got action , humour , mystery , romance all put into one . And the end , well lets just say that its not the end but only the beginning as we have just skimmed the surface of Nathan Wrann's paranormal world . There are too many unaswered questions and with the way things concluded in this book , there are too many events just waiting to unfold . I cannot wait to read the second book in this series and see what is next in store for Cor , his family and friends .

Note : There were some funny one liners in this book as told by Cor but i had to share this one -

Thats what happens when word gets out that a serial killer is in the neighborhood . Everyone locks their doors , closes their shutters and stays inside after dark . Nine months later the local maternity ward will likely be busy.

After Cor was almost killed in a car accident four years ago, when he was 13, he developed allergies. His is allergic to the sun. He is weak and sickly during the day, and can't sleep at night. After getting into some trouble in Los Angeles, his mom Jane decides to move to the misty Pacific Northwest, with two hundred and forty overcast days per year. He makes a new best friend Taylor. But it seems that trouble has followed him.

Nathan Wrann has done a fantastic job of weaving a paranormal romance/murder thriller with a web of suspense and mystery. This book would interest paranormal fans as well as those who love a good "whodunnit" book. Nathan has a writing style that I really liked and I just didn't want to put this book down. It was totally unpredictable and kept me wondering and guessing throughout.

Cor and Taylor are really likeable characters and I really enjoyed the interactions between them, total geek speak and playing detective and forensic scientist. Taylor turned out to be a much different character than I thought he was going to be when I started reading this.

The only downside I had was Caitlyn. I don't feel her character has enough depth for the reader to be able to connect with her properly. The type of girl who dated the dumb ass jock didn't gel with the type of person who would have been drawn to Cor. I would have liked some more insight into Caitlyn, like who she hung out with, was she popular etc.?

I really liked the ending when the action kicks off. We find out who the killer is (shocker) and there's also another twist. I am really looking forward to reading the next instalment in this series, From Out of Chaos.

Dark Matter Heart by writer and filmmaker Nathan Wrann is a delightful and quick read.

The book opens with our lead protaganist, a young teenager named Cor Griffin who has moved to the Pacific Northwest from Los Angeles in the hopes of controlling his "allergies" as well as to escape some other issues that he may or may not have been a part of (I will not spoil that for you). All Cor wants is to make it through high school and be as invisible as possible - no new friends, no sports; just getting through and moving on.

Of course that doesn't happen or else it would have been a very short and uninspiring book. Cor meets a new friend and, as is usually the case in life, he finds a girl that catches his eye and his heart.

All is not well as Cor also catches the eye of a man called The Creeper who, to again avoid spoiling things, makes Cor's life "difficult" to say the least.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The story, though dealing with vampires, isn't your usual vampire tale and don't think that just because it involves teenagers that it's going to be on some Twilight stuff because it isn't (which is a GOOD thing).

Highly recommended and I look forward to the next volume in this series.

Hea y'all so I finished Dark Matter Heart by Nathan Wrann and what a cool story to set off a series. The book is centered around Cordell Griffin a lost and withdrawn teenager looking for his place in life but his debilitating sickness keeps him weak and closed off from the world. When his mom leaves LA for the north western solitude and climate Cor prays it can bring a new fresh start, only to find out he's been followed by an unknown menace. Cor quickly makes a friend with forensics geek Taylor who consumes himself with the unsolved murder cases mounting around the town. Caitlyn catches Cors' eye in their shared art history class and the rest is a barrage of teenage angst and frustration. The characters in this book are edgy and dark, they harbor the true brutality some teens fight through in high school just trying to fit in. There is no want for action scenes or mystery in this book. Brutal murders create an outlet for Cor to discover his past, come to terms with his present and look forward to his future. Cor maybe different but he is just a guy wanting for friends and no matter what hand he is played he takes in consideration how it will affect his friends and family. Taylor and Caitlyn provide excellent support to their new found friend proving that it doesn't matter who you are as long as your you friends are out there you just have to let them into your life. I can't wait to see what happens next for Cor, Taylor, and Caitlyn in the next installment. 5 out of 5 stars for Dark Matter Heart grab this fun easy read and jump on the ride through Dark Matter.

Dark Matter Heart was a pretty good book. I found it a little slow at the beginning but ¼ ways through it, it really picked up! I loved the connection between Cor and his new “best friend” Taylor. The friendship between them was great and so easy going. I always find it interesting to see how different authors use the vampire myths; killing them, sun, how to turn and Nathan Wrann didn’t disappoint with his interpretation. Dark Matter Heart was a good, easy read and I’m looking forward to the next installment of Cor’s life!

Good book for sure, and a must read. The start was a little slow but I think after reading it was because there needed to be a story told and I loved the story, I really liked how it was a different vampire story and I am very very excited to get to the next book. The ending was a great one!!;)

Loved this book. I’ve read it more than once. Great twist on a vampire story. So outside the box once I start I can’t put it down. There is a mystery apart from the vampire and that really drew me in. And the ending makes me want to laugh every time. Highly recommend this story.

It seems I have managed to find yet another enjoyable vampire novel, I’m hoping the luck lasts.

Dark Matter Heart starts on a rather curious note, with Cor surrounding himself in mystery right from the start. There are various little hints to his past and why his mom decided to move, but no clear explanation. There is also the fact that he doesn’t really act like a normal guy though it seems he’s trying his best…All of this really piqued my interest and I ended flying through this.
The writing is detailed but the plot is set at a fast pace, and paired with short chapters this book really seems to pick up speed as you read. One issue I had with this were the more “unrealistic” events like the fact that there is a significant amount of hacking going on, don’t get me wrong it happens and there are some super nifty teens out there…it just felt a little weird to read. To be fair it was written in a believable way and the reasoning was also understandable, just something about it threw me off.I love the way vampirism is portrayed in this though. It connects to the lore quite well and it also doesn’t make it out to be some wonderful existence that bares no consequences. It seems rather uncomfortable at times and even savage at some points. Which is the way I like my vampires, I don’t want them to have a super wonderful time and have fangirls around every corner. That’s just boring. Another wonderful thing about this is the action, it’s not abundant but when it does occur…wow. Wrann really knows how to write a fight scene, especially toward the end.

Cor is a great main character, even if he is a bit odd personality wise. He’s a quiet guy who is rather sickly, but he’s also quite capable of taking care of himself when he needs too. I have to give it to the guy, he’s pretty brave when it comes down to it. Taylor is also a pretty cool character and quite handy with tech, I like he’s kind of overactive personality and how he’s a bit obsessive over news. It’s weird but it’s quirky. Caitlyn is where my second issue lies, though it doesn’t have to do with her personality. She’s an enjoyable side character but I don’t quite get the whole “attraction” thing that occurs, it feels rather convenient I suppose. Trace and the other football players are quite the inclusion and boy did I hate them, I don’t think I’ve ever see high school kids that mean but they were quite believable as bullies.

Overall I found this quite good and I’m glad I got the chance to read it. I’m hoping to get around to the second one sometime soon because this one left me with a few questions that I would answered.

So, going into this book I was thinking that it might be a typical vampire read. Thankfully I was wrong.
Yes, Cor prefers to come out at night.
Yes, he has to drink blood to live.
But he's not 100% sure that he actually IS a vampire, and that's what I loved!

When mysterious murders start happening the day that Cor & his mom move into a small Pacific Northwest town, Cor's hopeful new beginning is squashed. All he wants to do is be invisible, not make friends, and graduate.
On his first day of school he meets Taylor. He's the nerdy, future scientist type who instantly takes a liking to Cor. There's a companionship that they share, forging them together as the outcasts at school. This is fine with Cor, invisible is great in his book, but when Caitlyn catches his eye he can't help but feel the pull he feels towards her. Well, Caitlyn's jock boyfriend notices too and makes sure he makes his point.
With threats, and a beating that should leave him like a vegetable, Cor can't seem to shake how drawn to her he is. But with evil lurking and striking the ones he's come into contact with, Cor must keep those close to him safe and bring the evil in his life to an end.

Cor was a great character, developed, interesting and completely down to earth. I enjoyed how vampireism is explained in this book. It's not about a huge race of vampires trying to take over, hell, Cor doesn't even truly know he's a vampire. He's unlike any vampire character that I've ever come across and it was refreshing. Throughout the book you learn more about Cor, his mom and what secrets there are in his life. As he seems to be discovering new and potentially scary things about who he really is, murders and accusations are popping up at every turn.
Dark Matter Heart was great, I will definitely pick up the next book in the series just to see what is uncovered next. One thing is, I do wish the book was just a little bit longer. But Mr. Wrann left if wide open for more books to come in the series and I can't wait.

This book latches on to you and doesn’t let go. I loved every minute of it.

Though he is sickly, Cor just wants to blend in and finish high school and with juice box in hand at a new school that’s just what he plans to do. But of course trouble finds him on his first day. While his new friend Taylor guides him through his classes he happens upon the jocks. Who by all means are terrible and violent. But when Cor refuses to fight back something seems odd. What is it with this new kid?

Cor needs to keep a low profile. And when he has to work with one of the jock’s girlfriend things just keep getting out of hand. From the minute he meets her he is drawn to her. She is young and innocent and Cor needs to avoid her. Especially when it seems that every person he happens to randomly meet turns up dead. Dead and drained of blood.

When Cor’s teacher tells him to keep close to Taylor he takes the advice not knowing where it will lead. But in a school where you need someone to have your back Taylor’s your guy. And soon Cor is telling him his biggest secret, as well as why he carries around juice boxes.

Taylor is just what Cor needs and has connections to valuable places. Aside from a library and diner. Maybe even enough to find out why Cor is always so sickly when the sun is up. And why after a severe beating one afternoon, he is perfectly fine.

This book is short and moves really fast. I read it in three days, could have been one if I’d had the time. It flows smoothly and though you may panic at how brief it is, it is an amazing read. I had to give this book a nine out of ten. I couldn’t let it go. Which is exactly why I immediately purchased the second one. I do push you to take the time!

The whole CSI angle was nifty. I liked how it explained why certain things worked on vampires. I have yet to read another book that has done this. So one star for that. I also liked that it explained the mirror/photo/silver thing. Clever.
I was not, however, impressed with Caitlyn and that whole fiasco. There was no friendship that escalated further...it was just...I like how she looks--oh look there's a gravitational pull--and oh BAM! Sure I believe you...when I should be running screaming due to the logical side of things. And oh yeah, hey, I like you now that you found me in a park...oh turn me into a vampire!
Somehow she decided that her boyfriend was dangerous so she shouldn't be near him. But does she go home? No... What. The. Hell. Then of course, her boyfriend goes all crazy and decides he's going to force himself on her. I'm sorry, but I just didn't get that vibe from him. Sure he was an asshole, but he didn't come across as a rapist. If that were the case I doubt he would have waited so long to get in her panties. Which it made pretty clear earlier in the book that he was kind of pressuring her about it but hadn't been successful.
I was also irritated that he saved Caitlyn. I'm not saying she deserved to die, but I think it would have been better had she not been turned. Would give him some much needed character.
I was not fooled by the teacher. Was well aware who and what he was as soon as he became part of the picture.
The only surprising thing this book had for me was: who The Creeper was. Because there was no suspicion thrown on anyone. Though it would have been a nice twist had it been him all along.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

To be honest, I was not in love with this book when I started it. I thought it had some Twilight type undertones to it. I also thought that it moved along way too quickly and I wasn't sure how there was going to be any good closure to the story. This just goes to show that you can't judge a book until you are done with it. By the time I was through with this book I was loving every minute of it. I understood why the plot was moving along so quickly and Nathan did a fantastic job of wrapping it up at the end of book one.

I usually like more character development in my books. As I have said on here before, there is a fine line between not enough character development and too much character development. But, as I neared the end of the book it dawned on me that Nathan was keeping the characters somewhat mysterious and enigmatic on purpose. So, I would have to say that the characters are right on par with the mood of the story.

The plot was well done, even though I thought it moved too quickly in some parts (I think the whole book takes place in the span of less than one week...). I'm excited to see how the characters that came to light in the end of book one play into the plot of the following books.

If you are a fan of vampires, thrillers, and ya novels then I would recommend this read to you. It goes by very quickly. You could easily sit down in a day and read this book. I can't wait the start the next book in this series.

Overall Rating: 4/5

This was a cool, fun read. I really dug the "scientific" explanation of the vampire's abilities and traits--they were a little different than the norm and didn't rely so much on the supernatural, which made them interesting and refreshing. The author's use of language was colorful, and had a lot of character and personality--the way a book targeting young adults should. There were a lot of nuances that I appreciated as well: referring to the football players as the numbers on their shirts rather than their names, as if to indicate how their identity in school is more represented by their presence and achievements on the field than who they are as actual people. I also liked his approach to some of the vampire cliches--it showed creativity, while staying true to the myths and legends. The pop-culture reference were well placed and delicately executed, making the story relevant without bombarding the reader with a slew of trendy names and titles. As a big fan of the new "Teen Wolf" series on TV, I felt the book possessed a similar flavor and tone, which I really enjoyed. And of course, the twist ending was very cool and unpredictable. I didn't see it coming and was very pleased by the reveal.

Now, on to books 2 & 3...

Nathan Wrann writes a pretty decent story with Dark Matter Heart. I really enjoyed the book, and couldn't put it down. While it was a little slow moving towards the begining, the action picks up furiously towards the end of the story, and then, in true Amazon Kindle published author fashion, ends with a link to purchase the second book in the series, instead of wrapping up some of the loose ends left in the climax.

I won't use this review to comment on the marketing styles of my fellow authors by using this technique, but I guess I am a purist in the regard that I would like the novel to be told as one story, not three, for maximum payout for the author.

I am undecided on buying the other two books in the series as of yet because of this, but I do believe that Wrann has a winning formula with his characters, the plot and the momentum of the story. My opinion on this shouldn't hinder others of you from going out and purchasing the his works.

Many others have said that the book was slow in the beginning. I didn't consider it to be slow, but when the vampire plot came out all of a sudden I was a little taken aback. To be honest I had kind of forgotten that the book was supposed to be about vampires simply because it hadn't been mentioned for a good portion of the book. So I can see why people called it slow in the beginning.

HOWEVER, I thought the story showed an interesting take on vampires that I haven't read about before. I really liked the idea that there is truth in myths and when Cor said we are told to "Write what you know" my brain started whirring and I was wondering "What if they really exist??" Nathan Wrann's writing kept my attention and had me thinking "just one more paragraph...one more..." even when I had other things to do.

Overall, this was a quick read with a good storyline and I will be reading the rest of the series. Nice job!

Although this is listed as book 1, the review is for the entire trilogy. It consists of three books:
Dark Matter Heart
From Out Of Chaos
Paths Of Thorn And Flame
If you are going to read these books they should be read in order as each builds on characters from the other books and if read as a stand alone, there will be a lot the reader doesn't know about the characters.
Mr Wrann has an interesting twist on the characters as the main hero is a hybrid vampire, who doesn't want to be one. He just wants to remain invisible and not noticed but such is not his luck. He ends up having the usual teenager problems with girls, bullies and with luck also have one good and true friend. Also he has two different groups of vampire hunters chasing him. As I said each book builds upon the one before. Will our hero survive? If he does will he finish school or get a girl or find out who and what he is? Read to find out.

Dark Matter Heart reminded me of one my favorite series The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. I totally enjoyed Dark Matter Heart it was a light easy read that was suspenseful and kept my attention. I like Cor’s and Taylor’s character. This was another refreshing novel that had the best friend accepting that their best friend may be a supernatural creature. I like how Nathan made it seem like you were guessing between if Cor was a vampire or just had a weird allergy to the sun. I really liked Taylor and his geekyness for science and criminology…I really have a soft spot for geeks. The suspense of the murders around town reminded me of the many murder mystery TV shows and I liked that I personally didn’t see who the murderer was and the shocking twist at the end of the story. I’m hoping that Nathan will continue Cor’s story as I really enjoyed it

Firstly, I would like to say I really liked the cover. It gave me high hopes for the work.

This book was good, but not what I had hoped for. I’ve read some amazing reviews on this work but I can’t write one myself. The writing style simply wasn’t for me and really distracted me from the story. This isn’t a particularly long book at yet its taken me four days to read it. In the end I just skimmed over the pages.

The idea behind the awkward writing was pretty good. A young guy who suffers terrible side effects after being in a car accidental a few years ago. Allergic to the sun, insomnia and sickly during the day.

The character Cor was built up rather well, but I didn’t feel anything for the supporting characters. They were two dimensional. The Geek speak got on my nerves too.

This is a crossover novel, Paranormal/Thriller/Mystery. It would have been great with a bit more work.
