The SEAL's Baby

Rate this book

Engineer, single mom, weekend warrior

Hannah Stanton is all three—until she's called to active duty by the Navy. Then she becomes a warrior full-time. But that means she has to leave her baby behind while she flies helicopters in support of the Navy SEAL team that includes Mike McCaffrey—her old friend and colleague who also happens to be the onenight stand she never told about her pregnancy.

Hannah always meant to tell McCaffrey about the baby, but when was she supposed to do that? A year ago he'd been sent in to a war zone half a world away. Jeopardizing his mission—and his life—with news he could do nothing about wasn't possible. And now… Now it seems too late, especially since he just announced that he likes kids—as long as they're not his. Walking away isn't an option, though, once the Navy sends them on a mission…together.

I usually like to mix up my romance with my hardcore romance stories; so I picked this one up from a stack at a book store. I usually like books with man in uniform or a Navy SEAL. This book reads more like a guide on the Navy. There is little romance and more about the ins and outs of military service and the training of a Naval officer male and female. Now I understand you need to explain some of the training and practices of the Navy but it doesn't have to be most of the book. I found it really hard to swallow and there was maybe 3 percent romance in it. I was disappointed :(

DNF @ 69% mark. Truth be told, I started skimming very early on. I just wanted to get to the point where Hannah confessed to see if it got interesting but it did not. It was very difficult to get into the book because of the army lingo. I appreciate that Ms. Brewer knows her stuff but there was just information overload on that front.

Not the hot and heavy type of romance that I love, but I still enjoyed it because I do love romances with the secret baby theme.

This is one you will want to read.

Mac and Hannah are the perfect match. They are both Seals and she is hiding a baby girl that was conceived during z fling.
Ms Brewer certainly knows her stuff when it comes to the military.
The story is both bitter and sweet but there is a HEA. This is a good read.
