Finally got to this book that has been calling my name for years. Lovely, descriptive vignettes of prairie life, daily experiences, and life lessons shared by a voice from the long, lost days of yore. Brings to mind a bit of Little House stories except in a world of post world war. The author writes so eloquently and descriptively I was sensorily in the world she shared in every way.

Well written account of the author's growing up years living with her grandparents in a small Norwegian settlement in North Dakota. Written with love, humor, and an amazing ability to make you feel like you're right there with her.

An older book I picked up somewhere... I found it quite interesting and in a way refreshing. Life on the prairie told by a young girl who was being raised by her grandparents who were from Norway. It did help that it was true. :)
