The first edition, published in 2003, is now sold out. I am the ONLY seller on Amazon who is offering the second edition, which is 50 pages longer, with more pictures and better paper stock, at the same price. The 2nd edition is also brand new, better than the first edition, and signed by the author

I used this book solely for research, and I admittedly got some decent information that I can use later, hence the 3 stars. As someone who does enjoy reading up on local history from time to time, though, this isn't one I'd particularly seek out again.

I can get past the layout of information because it is more useful to have all the hotels' histories together instead of intersperced in a "proper timeline". However, parts feel incomplete because too often it jumped from informative, to annecdotal, to informative again, but not necessarily back to the same information prior. When I had more questions than answers, a few well worded Google searches helped me find some answers when I should have just been able to read it here in the first place.
