There are very few days off when you're on an epic quest. Believe me, I know. I'm Hedi Peacock-one half Fae, the other were-and if being a half-breed with one foot in each world isn't tough enough to manage, there are the four chambers of my heart to consider. The one who holds the strings? Robson Trowbridge, the Alpha of Creemore. If I had my way, he and I would be locked in a bedroom, for eternity, but a pressing family matter needs my attention. It's true what they A woman's work is never done. My twin brother is being held captive by the Old Mage in another realm. Lo and behold, as soon as Trowbridge and I arrive in Merenwyn, we're separated in spectacular, dramatic fashion-and I'm left to figure out how to maintain the fragile balance between my Fae magic and my wolf's blood in a realm that cries to both. Not easy, particularly when I'm keeping an iron-grip on my temper so as not to dispatch with extreme prejudice the odd wizard or smart-mouthed mutt servant who crosses my path. My mama never told me there'd be days like these, but I'm not going down without a fight...or my mate.
I was born in Montreal, Quebec but now live in Southern Ontario with my husband. I’ve raised two kids, mothered three dogs, and herded a few cats. Other than that, my life was fairly routine until I hit the age of 50. Some women get tattoos. I decided to write a book. A little tardy, but then again, Mum always said I was a late bloomer.
So how old are you now? I’m not telling you.
Have you always written? No. I wrote about that here: http://leighevans.com/blog/for-perspi... That post is the first of many that charts my journey from the start of writing Hedi’s story to winning my agent, Deidre Knight, through the Speed-Dating-With-Deidre contest hosted on The Knight Agency blog.
Do you have plans for more? Indeed I do. St. Martin’s Press has contracted me for four books. I delighted to add that the UK has picked up on the Mystwalker series too!
Were you always so awesome? Sorry to disappoint, but I was the kid with the speech impediment in grade school and the wrong hem-length in high school. Let’s not even discuss college, where I discovered all the things that were cool and not so cool, and realized that I probably fell into the latter category. Truth be told, I doubt I’ll ever be awesome, but damn, I keep trying.
Seriously, how old are you? I’m still not telling you.
Is there a bottom line in life? Yes. Never give up. Ever. Even bad things eventually turn around. Take that from someone who’d all but farmed herself out into the pasture.
this was not the best series I used my time on.. I'm honestly not even sure why I forced myself to listen to all 4 books but I'm glad it's over & I can move on to hopefully something more worth using my time on.
