I started reading the series at the start of May and I finally finished. Some of the books are great and others are just barely readable, so 4 stars over all.
I'm currently on Book 8. I loved the inside look at the Revolutionary war. Whenever I read a great historical novel I am able to straighten out my historical timeline. I highly recommend Books 1-6 maybe 7. I'm a bit bogged down with book 8 because the war is over and they are working on the Constitution. Which is great, but not my intent for reading the series.
So who would have thought that I would use this series to set me on the path to mentor a Revolutionary War - Declaration of Independence class! I am so glad I read these books!
The entire set gives you deep and poignant insight into the tremendous suffering and sacrifice endured by the founders of America, and of the hand of God in the creation of the United States and her Constitution.
