After her mother’s death, sixteen-year-old Carly Morneau is uprooted from the Twin Cities to the shoreside town of Sterling, Minnesota, but it is only after meeting mysterious Gabriel that she realizes why. She soon discovers her lineage as a full-blood shapeshifter, and the vampire-like creatures intent on taking her life. Carly is forced to rely on her father and new friends until she is able to fulfill her destiny and shift into her primary form—a small, white fox—for the very first time.
Michelle Bredeson is an author of novels and short stories living in Langdon, ND with her husband, cats, and Pomeranian. She believes that writing is not so much a hobby as it is a habit, not so much a pasttime as it is a passion. It's something that's in her blood, something that she can't seem to quit. So if you feel the same way, good luck and don't stop writing any time soon...
I liked this book, it is a nice read. It is about a girl named Carly, she just moved to Sherling after her mom died and quickly makes friends at this new place. This book is mostly about the social activities Carly and her friends do. After a while Cralyshe learns that she is a shapeshifter and that she still has to shift for the first time. What I like about this book is that Craly already knows that something is wrong before she learns she is a shapeshifter. there are enough books were the character get's the clues and still don't gets it. Carly dreams about a wolf and then sees a wolf picture at the home of one of her friends and she demands an explanation. What I think could've been better about this book was that the characters could have gotten a bit more depth. You get to know seven characters but at the end of the book you only know a bit of two of Carly's friends. I would like more background information and more about what kind of persons they are. Further I think the book could've been a little bit longer, because it is clear this is only the introduction, nothing really happens and the supernatural toppics are only introduced. But There will more more books, so I hope that those will be even better.further this book contains some romance, another thing I like about Carly is that she doesn't ruch into a relationship and really doesn't want a relationship for the first half of the book. So she doesn't fals in love at first sight, altough it is guite clear who she will end up with. So this is a nice book to read, but it is clear this is one of the first books the author wrote. I will read the next book too, because I enjoyed this one. I think the next books will be better than this, but this series is surely worth to try.
