[Siren LoveXtreme Forever ManLove: Erotic Alternative Ménage Romance, M/M/M/M/M/M/M/M, demons, light bondage, sex toys]
The new moon creeps closer, bringing with it the threat of deadly fires. Their army is growing, more are joining their ranks, and Fiero struggles to hold on to some semblance of his former self.
Echo’s becoming more confident in his powers, working harder each day to perfect his abilities. He knows if he can get Fiero to trust him—and if he can push past his fears and offer the same in return—they stand a better chance at success.
Giving up control is not easy for Fiero, but he would do anything to protect Echo. Hades's inferno doesn’t concern him nearly as much as the fire that burns inside him for his mate, overwhelming and consuming his every thought. The answer is staring him right in the face, but will he have the courage to reach out and seize it?
Gabrielle Evans grew up in a small town in southern Oklahoma. We’re talking one red light that may or may not work depending on the day of the week. She married her high school sweetheart and the rest is pretty much history. They have two very active boys and one high-strung wiener dog that keeps her constantly on the go. For now, Gabrielle parks her car in north-central Texas, but who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Fiero is an interesting character for me,he possesses the power of fire and his characteristic is controlling and demanding both in his field and in his bed. Here comes his task, the riddle that noboby can figure out,and the time is nearly runs out.
I like the concept of this book, how heroic Echo is , Evans can hook me from the first page until the last that make me want the next book so badly.
After the promising beginning of the series in book 1, I’m very disappointed with book 2 and 3. I hoped so much that the demon characters would be more explored. But – though the demons have some powers – we don’t see them as demons. (ok. One exception, but a very, very short and disappointing one). I looked forward to see the demon side, to see their form. But all we get was a short glimpse of a gift.
In book 3 – Fiero – I don’t get it. Sorry author, but your plot isn’t very logical. There is Fiero, a demon of the fire or fire demon, who is several thousands years old. He can manipulate the fire and then Echo, the 23 year old human must show him, how to work with the fire?? Sorry, but that’s just ridiculous.
I would have got it, if Echo would have transferred Fiero’s power to another demon and then he would have shown this demon how to work with the fire. But to show the fire demon to work with his own gift, who was born with this power and that he has since several thousands years?? It’s the same as would a new born baby tell an 80 year old about life and how to live it. Sorry, but that’s just bullshit.
About the tests each demon must absolve… The whole two books are a "what can we do, what can we do"-whining thing, with no real solution and no training for the fight, for the war. And then – out of nowhere – at the end there is this flash of genius and then "we will do it this way" and then… victory! Sorry, but such things don’t work for me. The author rushed through the story and skipped important parts just to come back to the sex and to an end.
The sex scenes are still appealing and I like how the author described the Ménage à huit. Therefore I must say, that I would have liked, if there would have been more interacting between the demons. In each sex scene Echo has a leading role. And I can’t stand this guy. I don’t like Echo, who is a drama queen, a bitch, jumps always to conclusions, is a pain in the ass… Echo always says to the demons they should stop to think with their dicks. Therefore he is the one who has always sex on his mind.
Für die deutschsprachigen Leser… ein "geschmiertes Brötchen" nimmt hier ganz neue Dimensionen an… *lach*
The author has good ideas, but her focus is too much on Echo, therefore there is no room for the demons. They can’t unfold their personalities. Though I like how they interact with each other. The seven guys were introduced as demon warriors, but they never showed their demon side and we never saw them as warriors. They are just random guys you can read about in several thousand other books. Aside from their powers they have nothing special. It's really sad and I hoped that the author would create a new world with a lot of demon action. The start with book 1 was promising, but it's just another (bad) romance novel you can find on a rummage table.
The very, very limited fighting scenes are crap. They aren’t described very well and are very short. I don’t understand this; because the story is about the test each demon must absolve, is about the fight with Ares, is about the final fight and win the war they have with Hades.
I will take a break in the series and read book 4 in some months. The story is too shallow and the books aren’t paranormal, aren’t about demons. It’s just a plain romance novel with lot of erotic scenes and a small glimpse of a paranormal power. It’s nothing extraordinary. Nonetheless the author has an amazing writing style. I enjoy reading her books, but I just can give 2.5 stars.
As suspected, this third volume focuses on the next of the demons and his abilities: Fiero has to learn to trust and let go in this book. The test of Fiero's abilities is almost secondary to the relationship development with Echo. It is there to get the group to focus, but it plays less of a role (I think) than Eyce's test did in the second book. It made for a nice variation. After all, without changing things up a little, this series could potentially get very boring.
Echo is there to help and support him, which confirms how central his role is in all this. A further development in the overarching story now has Echo pitted against Ares - not a good position to be in. I liked how the group again helps their new friends, the vampires, and how Echo stands up for them. The group of demons continues to grow mentally, and I look forward to the next book.
As with the past books - I adore the 7 demons and their love/attraction for each other. I love how some have started to verbalize their feelings and I just go all mushy in some scenes.
I liked the new vamps - they are cutesy
The fight scene was probably the best one to date. More action and direct and BEST thing yet is there was no stupid plot ideas like in previous books.
BUT
There is a downside - Echo was a A$$hole in a few scenes - I hate how he bosses the other men around. Its like Right you go do the washing, you do the cleaning, you do the cooking and I will go lie in bed doing nothing.
I get a bit peeved with Echo at times but still like him in many scenes
This was a fun and equally exciting installment in the series. In this book the focus is on Fiero and his challenge, but even more than that, the focus is on him, his relationship with the warriors and with Echo. It was actually more interesting, to me, than the prior book because it dealt with more of the emotional aspects of the relationships.
Ares returns and Echo makes a deal with him which really pisses off his men. No worries, it all works out for the best. The intro of two vampires to their army is fun and Echo makes me laugh constantly.
Me agrada cómo en cada libro nos centramos un personaje, su misión y su pareja, aunque precisamente la parte de la pareja no siempre me agrada porque siento se centran demasiado en uno, pero bueno, quizás en los demás las cosas se pondrán mejor.
typical gabrielle evans serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical gabrielle evans? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by : sunny day lynn hagen stormy glenn scarlett hyacinth carol lynne gabrielle evans
unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.
