Fifteen-year old Fanny and her step-sister are drawn into mysterious occurences around their home in Scotland which seem to be connected to the unexplained disappearance of a young man in 1914.
Eileen Dunlop has lived in Scotland all her life. Born in Alloa, 13 October 1938, she was educated at Alloa Academy and Moray House College, Edinburgh.
I read this book nearly 7 years ago. The story always hung around in the back of my memory, but I couldn't remember the title until I searched for it online. Although I did not like the sudden ending that left some little things unexplained, the rest of the story was a great read for me, as it was my first (supernaturally) mystery book. I admired Fanny, thought her stepsister very silly, and positively despised the red-haired man.
This was a good book. It is a mystery about a girl and her stepsister. The stepsister is hiding something and her sister is trying to find out what it is. If you like mysteries you would like this book.
