Quandary
Emilie Guggenheim was fascinated by the Eilerians, but Earthlings still did not know much about them, so she took courses in anthropology and went into graduate studies. Her proposed thesis would be about the Eilerians, but she would need to live with some for several months and no one had done that before. She contacted their ambassador in Washington and was accepted into their embassy for six months. She and the ambassador’s son fell in love and the quandaries began.
Several years later, the United Nations applied to join Eileria’s interplanetary union and Emilie was asked to prepare Earth’s application which presented other quandaries.
Several more years later the Eilerian union had lost a battle against an aggressive and violent enemy and considered asking the Earthlings’ help where Emilie acted as a translator, causing many more quandaries.
