These books hold so much in their pages. There are some moments that are truly heart-wrenching, some that are joyous and funny, but there is always hope. Reading these might make some people uncomfortable. Good. Maybe, like me, you needed to be. I look forward to reading more of the series.

The Yada Yada Prayer Group was too simplistic and the main character was narcissistic and unsophisticated. She thinks she’s a good Christian and has no issues—does anyone feel that way? Most people are mired in self-doubt and here we have a woman who thinks she does everything the right way and there’s no room for improvement. I’m interested in following the story to the end—I can’t wait to read about her epiphany. So, I highlighted, “I felt like someone pulled a cord and opened the blinds on my eyes. Why should I care about impressing or fitting in with four hundred and eighty-some women I didn’t even know . . . when I had a chance to be ‘one in the spirit’ with a group of twelve women who had been thrown into my life, even if just for this one weekend?” Good thought, that one. And also, “There was an awkward silence, which Yo-Yo took as an invitation. ‘You guys been talking all night to the Big Guy upstairs about Delores’s boy. Looks like He gave a pretty good answer . . . for starters. But everybody just goin’ to go home? Like this prayer group never happened? Delores might still need you, you know.’ I liked the recovered drug addict and jailbait Yo-Yo the best of all the characters in the book.

I loved the second book in the series just as much or more than I loved the first book in the series. I adore how these women support each other and show up for each other. I love how they are so open to learning about each others cultures and churches and families. I am blessed to be in the same Bible study group of women for over 8 years. We are all from the same church and live in the same area so different than this group. I love the diversity of this group. It gives me an idea to mix up Bible study groups from other churches. 🤔

Loved this quirky, fun novel that shows us all what it means to put our differences aside and love one another, with the power of Christ. Found each of the women in the group to be so authentic, in their story. Will for sure continue on in the series!!

Legacy

This book tells of 12 women that are in the same prayer group together. It talks about their trials and tribulations as they have to learn to trust the Lord.

My second time reading both books

A prayer group formed at a women's conference unlike prayer groups people usually form themselves. The women come from all walks of life. They are different ages, races, socioeconomic status, and backgrounds but Holy Spirit puts them together in a POWERFUL group.
These two books not only are examples of the power prayer, but also show examples of the power of community and relationships. The women become not only friends but sisters in every true definition of sisters and family.
