This may be the only book you need if you are traveling around Australia.

An attractive one-volume guide to the plants and animals of Australia. Obviously it is not comprehensive, but it does have the most common species, along with illustrations and range maps. Nicely done.

This book was in my shed, in my camping gear, ignored, unread and gathering dust.

For some reason I packed it the last time we went camping (with my 3 and 5yo girls). The book was used everyday as we flicked through it looking for some animal, or insect, or reptile that we had seen... and every time it was in the book.
