Vicomte Gabriel Renan was just trying to dispose of his ill-gotten fortune when the mysterious stranger attacked him. Now he's been told he may become vampire if he cannot make it to the full moon without drinking blood. Easy enough. Or will the madness that threatens lure Gabriel to follow the night?
Too many secrets Roxane Desrues holds to her breast. She only wishes to rescue her brother, but is distracted by the handsome vicomte, and the reality that he may become her greatest enemy should he transform to vampire. Together they will learn what they can to overcome—but ultimately, they have only one another to trust in the battle between good and evil.
Michele has been writing romance, action-adventure and fantasy stories for over twenty years. Her first published novel was DARK RAPTURE.
France, musketeers, vampires and faeries populate her stories. And if she followed the adage 'write what you know', all her stories would have snow in them. Fortunately, she steps beyond her comfort zone and writes about countries she has never visited and of creatures she has never seen.
Michele also writes as Michele Renae, and you can find her erotica, chick lit, and Harlequin Romance titles at your favorite online retailer.
CENTRAL FEMALE CHARACTER: ROXANNE – Vampire hunter, intelligent, secretive
CENTRAL MALE CHARACTER: LEO aka GABRIEL – Member of the Genteel, man appreciative of women, not a believer in the supernatural, rich, secret benefactor.
SYNOPSIS: Roxanne arrives immediately after Leo is bitten. Rather than go after the vampire, she renders aid to his bite. Leo wakes up and has no idea why this woman is in his home. His valet is acting very weird and shows complete interest in his bite.
WHAT I LIKED: I can appreciate the author’s talent as a writer regardless of her writing style. Does that make sense?
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Rosemary and Cinnamon. Cinnamon and Rosemary. AND Rosemary and Cinnamon. So many environmental details.
OVERALL RATING: (2) stars because story-line dry and boring due to continuous descriptions of surroundings rather than interaction between characters.
Definitely a good book. Being a very sexual person I was little disappointed that she didn't finish the sex scenes to the fullest,.especially when she looses her virginity. Overall though not disappointed had enough turns to keep you interested, but not to many to question what the check it going on. I'm not jumping up and down over the book, but it is definitely not a bad read that I regret
It took me a while to get into this book as I am not a big reader of historical books. But because it was about vampires and it was by Michele I kept going and it was well worth it. A must read.
