Inspiring book! Blockley crawled over wet rocks at the surging shore, wedged himself down against stone walls to get out of the wind, interviewed coal miners as they emerged from their day's work. Where he went, he sketched in pencil or got out some watercolor paints and committed to bold, brisk effects. I get ideas for things I'd like to try, color combinations to experiment with. Thank you, John Blockley, for sharing your quest in this useful book that I examine again and again.
