Ryohgo Narita (成田 良悟, Narita Ryōgo) is a Japanese light novelist. He won the Gold Prize in the 9th Dengeki Novel Prize for Baccano!, which was made into a TV anime in 2007.[1] His series Durarara!! was also made into a TV anime, which began airing January 2010

There are two traits found in most of Narita's works:
* Narita writes extremely fast, one volume a month if he wishes - with tons of spelling errors and missing words as a tradeoff. The editors like to leave them sometimes just for fun, though.
* His work titles often have an exclamation mark at the end (i.e. Baccano!, Vamp!, Durarara!!, etc.).

Kanji names: 成田 良悟 & 成田良悟.

Ice Pick Thompson is a serial killer on the loose in New York. With a name like that, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that his weapon of choice is an ice pick. His ominous presence in the city can be felt like Jack The Ripper’s was in London.

A journalist figures out who Ice Pick Thompson is targeting. But he quickly realizes that he himself is the next person on the list.

The wrench-swinging maniac Graham Specter is the police’s prime suspect. Even though it’s obvious from the start that he’s got nothing to do with it, that doesn’t mean he’s not willing to wreck some havoc of his own though.

A young boy is standing on a bridge, ready to jump. Elmer C. Albatross sees the boy and asks him a very simple question: “will dying make you happy?” When the boy says it won’t, Elmer knows what he has to do.

It’s a rather straight forward story for the most part, focusing more on the characters than the plot. Though there are few good twists near the end. The setting of the Great Depression in the middle of Prohibition is really brought to life here, which definitely elevates the story.

A stand alone adventure about a serial killer named Ice Pick Thompson. Elmer’s always great and mixing him up with Graham Specter turned out quite nice.

3.5 but I’m leaning towards a 4

This book is a fun time. The 1930s plot is the best part of the series to me, so I’m always happy to read another installment to see where hell Narita is taking this. I guess a couple of the twists, but I don’t mind.

This is one of my favourites in the series because it has a lot of my favourite characters, the dynamic between Elmer and Graham and they’re bullying of poor shaft really entertain me and the poor kid that’s absolutely traumatised by Elmer never fails to crack me up I highly recommend

This was a good one. The plot was complicated, but understandable, compared to some of the the other Baccano novels. A lot of the more interesting side characters in the Baccano universe play a big role as well. The only problem with the story was that it is a side story, and not related to the main story. It sounds like there are only a few more volumes left.

Elmer, Graham, and Mr Smith were clearly the highlights here. Also, Maria and Tick always make for an entertaining pair. Loved the twists and turns.

Needed more Graham and Tick, and Gunmaestro Smith had the weakest character in Baccano yet.
