It was the day of the solar eclipse, when my son must have "Tuned-in" to my writing. I was writing the story of our experience of this special phenomenon this morning on my website blog and as I write now, I still feel the sensation I experienced when I noticed the "way of the light" ~ the shadows that were cast in the early morning, were so dreamy and mesmerising. Unlike anything I have ever seen before!

During the course of our busy day, my son said, "Mum, we can't run away from our shadows." Life stood still in that moment ~ I was struck by something, I still don't know. There was simplicity and truth. It's a line I have heard before, but I hadn't experienced it in this way. I have understood this concept on a literal level and have even played around with games like "trying to catch your shadow," but I had not yet experienced how this concept could be appreciated on a metaphoric level. Not being able to run away from our shadow was a timely statement from my son, as I am currently reading the book: "Map of the Soul."

I originally came across this book in October, when I was perusing the display of titles in Annie's Bookshop in Peregian Beach. I was there to explore ~ her titles, and the opportunity to be the place to launch my book: "Time Out, Tune In, Turn On". I noticed the cover of Tricia's book - the writing in electric blue and my intuition said WOW - that's your colour...The colour I am drawn to now, and the colour that is the cover of my book. I also loved the very soft blush of aqua green ~ oceanic to me, resonating with the underworld of the sea ~ where I happily bathe in our warm spring months and am currently creating fancy mermaid hand-crafts.

But, my "Inner Me" said, "Oh, no. I can't go there ~ I've just finalised the galley version of my own self-help guide. I declare that I am now having a break from reading, even though I have been mostly writing!" But, this book came into my hands a second time, when I was in store again with Annie, showing her the very first my book - hot off the press. I knew then that now was indeed, my destined time.

Interestingly, the night before the solar eclipse, I flipped forward from the page I was on and noticed that the next chapter was about embracing your shadow side! It is Chapter 6: "Retrieving the Depths of Soul and Spirit - Shadow."

As with most of my self-help books, I find that I connect with the right resource at the right time and use them as I need to, and that may be completely or partially, sequentially or haphazardly. In this book, the processes are deep and sequential and it is imperative that I rest with my heart and experience these processes at my own pace, as I feel guided, in my own time. They are not processes you can 'force' yourself through. Sometimes, it can take me years to work through one book, and I love having an array of resources which I know I can access, when I feel the need.

By having developed a new healthy habit of journal writing, and reflecting on my journeys; and by having completed the process of writing and publishing "Time Out, Tune In, Turn On: Live the Path of Your Heart," I feel ripe to work through Tricia's processes in this book. Most importantly, I am gaining reinforcement about how important it is to embrace the "Real Me" entirely.

I had stalled after completing Level 6 ~ for me, the timing must be 'ripe' ~ I'm drawn to this book intuitively and the lessons I work through seem to flow with this gentle process.

I feel that I'll power through to 12 soon, as I'm looking at the 'light matrix' now: bringing to light the treasures I have discovered through my humbling, yet powerful processes of looking back upon the journeys of my life and discovering how different situations have imprinted my Soul's development. It's a liberating feeling to honour my life lessons and support my Soul's evolution through my future life. I'm getting excited about what will become!

Suffice to say, I picked this up at the library thinking it was something else: guided meditations for simple relaxation. However, the author wants you to embark on another quest altogether, into the soul of nature's essence to seek your higher purpose or something (perhaps I should have read her book first), and I didn't get beyond the first track. Here is another example, by the way, where an author should think twice before reading an audio book themselves. If you are looking for a guru, I think the first requirement is to find someone with a good inspirational speaking voice. Tricia's is too strongly 'strine' to be anything more than an irritation which isn't conducive to relaxing meditation.

I listened to this on audio book and never finished it. I did get some comfort from what the author shares and improvement with my meditating but maybe it's not the right book for me at this time?
If I return to this at a later date I will not use the audio version as it was confusing to jump between chapters to the other download with mediations and each chapter included really awful music. It was so off track ( and off - putting). Spooky and mystical? What were they going for? Badly judged and probably the main reason I didn't preserver to the end.
