This book really gives an insight into the PTL world from that time periods point of view. I read this book from my university library, Jim & Tammy’s Bible college in Minneapolis, MN in fact.
Todays culture has a kind of been there done that notion to this story it’s very interesting to read a tell all book from the time period that it was happening in.
There are bits that one has to wonder if it was an embellishment for the time to sell boos and heighten the hatred of the Bakkers themselves. The author did as I remember really give a lot of credit to the workers and partners of PTL stating that they all worked very hard for something they believed in. He admits even though he has some skepticism he too was sold and bought into the PTL evangelical empire.
The whole book is an insiders look to the best times and ultimate demise of PTL & Heritage USA. Michael lets the readers in on some of the manipulative tactics of PTL leadership behind the cameras and hotel lobbies.
