About the author

Karen Fox knew at age twelve that she wanted to be a writer. She loved putting down on paper the adventures of those characters who came to life in her head so that she could enjoy them over and over. She was much older before she realized that everybody didn’t have stories going on in their head and wondered if this made her a little bit weird.

Though she’s lived around the country and in Europe with her Air Force husband and three now grown children, she finds it exciting to imagine new worlds, new species, new adventures, and possibilities for the future. This excitement shows itself in her stories.

Upon discovering the local RWA writing chapter in Colorado Springs, Karen went on to sell her first book in 1996 and has gone on to sell several more over the years.

As one who believes by giving, she receives, Karen spent several years in several positions on the local chapter of Romance Writers of America—Pikes Peak Romance Writers, served two terms on the RWA board, and has also served over 20 years with the Pikes Writers Conference. She also works on the annual NINC Conference.

To date Karen has published eight paranormal romance books with Kensington, Leisure Books, and Berkley, plus a novella with BelleBooks and a short story with DAW. Her second book, Somewhere My Love, was a RITA Finalist in 1998. Prince of Charming, a paranormal romance, was a winner for the 2001 Award of Excellence in the Paranormal Category and Finalist for the 2001 National Readers’ Choice Award. Buttercup Baby, another book in the contemporary fae line, went on to win the Booksellers’ Best Award. She’s also published two sweet contemporary romance novels and three short stories in the ongoing Dogwood Series.

A Touch of Charm: Three Graces Trilogy, Book 2 is by Karen Fox. This second book is as good as the first. It concerns getting the three Sullivan sisters married and recharging the grace for which they are names.
Charisma was the second of the daughters of a former miner who had thrown coins in the fountain at the Three Graces in the Colorado park. Charisma wanted to become more circumspect in the way she gave her opinions in public. Now, however, she wanted to hear William Barclay speak in his run for senate. Charisma was interested in politics and in helping people. She wants to do something important with her life. One thing she is very interested in is getting the vote for women. She wants William Barclay to believe in that; but he hasn’t made himself clear on this statement.
Can Charisma find happiness for herself and be able to learn how to keep herself from getting into trouble with her mouth?
This book isn’t quite as good as the first one but is still good.

This was a quick read. I loved the suspense, the women’s rights and humanitarian aspects, and the focus on doing what is right, not what society expects. However, I was displeased with the begging. Charisma was so self-assured around most people, but was then downright pathetic with Will. And for him to have known of Missy’s rape for a year but not told the police to protect his family? Incredibly shameful, a total blight on his character. Charisma can do better than Will Barclay. I enjoyed much of the characterization, such as Grace and Mrs. Barclay, but found some wording to be repetitive throughout. Although I couldn’t stop reading myself, I won’t be recommending it to others.

Outspoken Charisma learns to think before she speaks so she doesn't harm her beau's chances at winning a political campaign.

Good thing: It's nice to see the issue of women's rights and the possible right to vote in a romance novel occurring in late 1800's Colorado.

Bad thing: The 'fairy godmother' angle wasn't needed.

This is a sweet, cozy romance - heavy on romance and learning to appreciate one another and light on sex.

This is a good sequel. I wish there was a little less adult romantic content. I like Charisma's and Will's growth thoughout. I look forward to Grace's story.

I love this trilogy! This book in particular I liked how they explored the view of women and politics in very early Colorado. The humor is top notch, and the characters are great!
