Author and success coach Sheila Callaham splits her working hours between the two things she enjoys most: writing and motivating others to be their best.
Sheila’s first book, Truth Runs Deep, published in 2011, explores issues of religious bigotry and the pain of exclusion based on sexual orientation. A work of crime fiction, Sheila likes readers to know that even fiction can have a message.
Spiritual non-fiction, Stories from Spirit, reveals the Shaman's influence on Sheila's ongoing spiritual evolution and shares techniques for readers to connect more deeply to their inner divine.
"Over the years I've longed for a deeper spiritual connection and have searched high and low for ways to deepen my feelings of spiritual connectedness," says Callaham. "It wasn't until I met a shaman and began to work with her to develop some unique techniques for personal spiritual guidance that I eventually found my way. It made such a difference in my life that I want to share it with others."

This is a well-written story by an author who walked around with pencils when she was a young child. Personally, I am glad she scribbled in her youth and as an adult wrote this suspense filled novel. I personally know how teachers can influence us - as my English teacher became my mentor. She and I still keep in touch. Like this amazing author - I would also like to thank my teachers.
I believe anyone who is looking for a good read will be hooked once you start reading Truth Runs Deep. A murder is committed with no likely suspects. Can it be solved? I believe you will like how the author intertwines a priest, police chief and newspaper reporter into this irresistible story. It is a page-turner to say the least.
Jeannie Walker - Award Winning Author of "Fighting the Devil" - A True Story of Consuming Passion, Deadly Poison, and Murder
Most of the book takes place in a small town in Virginia. The narrative follows members of a local Catholic church, the town police chief, and a newspaper reporter. As I am not religious, when I began reading I was initially off-put by the involvement of religion in the narrative. Although, as the story began to take shape I could tell that the author was not necessarily endorsing the religious aspects but rather including them because they were important to the characters in the story.
Once I became comfortable with the direction of the narrative, I really got in to it! I read Truth Runs Deep over a couple of days on my commute to school and thoroughly enjoyed it! The author hooks you with a crime that needs to be solved and follows up with a powerful and telling ending. This story will change you, the ending is not what you would expect. I can't wait for Sheila's next book!
Rumors, Murder, Scandal and the Catholic Church. It’s not what you think.
After speaking to one person, it seems to point the Chief of Police in one direction but he’s not so sure now that he has a bit more information. It takes awhile to discover just what those mysteries are that the chief is privy to but not yet the reader.
Because priests are bound to secrecy in what transpires in a confession, whether in or outside the confessional, it adds an extra dimension to this well-crafted story.
I can't remember a book evoking so much emotion, the torment of LGBTQ youth, especially those in "religious" families torn between familial love and perceived spiritual obligation is so beautifully and painfully portrayed here. Thank You Sheila, for telling this story!!!!!
With all the issues with the Catholic priest today this book started out as a priest who was getting threats and people of that Catholic church were filing complaint against him. None was done much at the time and the files were put away. A family of church members were murdered . Who and Why and they even took their family dog. Later a young boy a friend of the family committed suicide in the confessional at church. This is a puzzler to figure out . Every time it point to the murderer something changes to make you think it was someone else. But who really did it? Boy will you be surprised.
A debut novel by Sheila Callaham with a touch of releigion sentiments involved in it.This story revolves around Father Stephen Mario of St.Joseph Church who is now Prime Suspect for Murdering all the members of a catholic family who wanted him to be removed from the church...a nicely paced story & a gud read.
A story about the painful lives of gay teens when they are rejected by their loved ones. Also, the difficulties priests face when they are wrongfully accused of improper behavior.
