About the author

Diana Eastment (formerly David Eastment) was a freelance teacher-trainer and writer, specializing in the application of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to language education. The Internet, the book she wrote (with David Haristy and Scott Windeatt) was the first on this subject in Oxford's Resource Book for Teachers series.

She worked for twelve years at the Bell Language School, Cambridge, before becoming a freelancer in 1994. She also taught in Italy, Portugal, and Japan and given lectures and workshops extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and South America.

Diana edited IATEFL Issues between 1994 and 2000. She also wrote the popular ‘Websites for the Language Teacher’ column for the ELT Journal. She wrote for the Oxford Teacher's Club and gave talks as a respected Oxford author to bring ideas on using technology in language education to teachers.

Diana died in March 2010. You can read a tribute to Diana’s life and work in the July 2010 issues of the ELT Journal.
