The story was really great. I enjoyed it immensely, probably because I read the prequel to their childhood before it and couldn__t wait how their teen friendship would continue to grow. The story is pretty much about how not communicating and making bad assumptions can ruin one__s life, even without trying to hurt someone.
I guess this is not your typical and at the same time a very, very normal love story, in a way. It got friendship, lust, love and losses in it, in an intriguing mix of story parts. What probably makes this story really great is that one can relate to their relationship. Not everything is perfect and starts of at the best angle. You bicker and curse in a relationship until you find some middle ground to work with. This story perfectly portraits such a love story without being too fictional.

Beth and Jake start out as best friends that have not seen each other for over two years since Jake went back to London to start his musical career and University degree. Beth is hell-bent on surprising him back in London and asks Jake__s Mother Vivian to help her visit him in England. What starts out as a surprise visit turns quickly and surprisingly for both main characters into a summer fling, but Beth has to go back to L.A. in a few weeks, to start her freshman year as an art major at UCLA. Unfortunately Beth__s visit is cut short when her father calls her back, because her mother seems to be ill. Beth rushed back and Jake promises to visit. Their relationship continues to grow but a long distance relationship is never easy, even for those madly in love. When Beth learns that her mother__s cancer is once again back and she tries to call Jake in London to console her. Unfortunately a female voice picks up the phone and Beth fragile emotion spiral out of proportion. She ends their relationship and secludes herself. Jake, beside him with worry and not understanding why she is ending everything without a fight, gives up after several weeks and months trying to contact Beth without any word.
Several years later Beth, now working as an executive assistant in a PR firm, meets Jake, now a really famous rock star with his new band in L.A., in a small supermarket near her flat. He is still not over her completely, but offers her a job, after seeing that she__s not doing so great. Beth accepts to be his PA (Personal Assistant) but the tension between those too keep racketing up until Beth is involved in a car accident, that changes her a lot __ in many unexpected ways__

*spoiler alert*

Even though this was one of the best contemporary romances that I__ve ever read, I was really disappointed with how this story ended. I was gearing up for them to come together and marry, but the story actually ends with them admitting their love for each other. That kinda sucked __ if you excuse my choice of word here. The story was in many was incomplete and the ending hinted at a cliff-hanger, which it might be, considering that the other is working on book "3" in this series. Too bad, that her books end on slightly unfinished story strings. It could really have used a conclusion and maybe how they were both going to deal with the media and paparazzi.
That__s why this book will only get 4 out of 5 stars, even though I enjoyed it greatly and read it in one sitting, because I couldn__t put it down.

This was an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC story!!! I love Jacob and Beth! They are so perfect for each other! I loved their story and even though I had tears when they were so mean to each other, I was thrilled with the ending!!! This is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it! I enjoyed every page from the high school years to the end of Turning The Page! I could not put it down. I cannot wait till the next book comes out to see how Jacob and Beth's story continues for a happily ever after!!

I really loved this book. However what I did not love is the ending. It doesn't feel done to me.
