Very remedial introduction to healthy eating habits and exercising. Despite its remedial nature, I still really liked the book. I particularly enjoyed the exercise section. Changed my whole strength routine because of it. Overall, good solid book for those starting out with their new healthy lifestyle.

Really gives a healthy, practical, pragmatic outlook to weight loss and what it means to be healthy. It's got its fair share of success stories but what I liked about it was the simple math that was used. Very appreciated and I've adapted it in my life.

Great Book

I have used the Lose It app for years. But this book gave me a more complete understanding of what this app and this weight loss program requires.

This book helped me gain better perspective of the need to eat less calories than I burn in a given day to kick start weight loss. With the help of this book and it's accompanying app on the iPhone, I was able to lose 40 pounds. The book is a good education tool and motivation to anyone striving to lose weight the right way (no fad diets or starvation).

I used this book and the app in combination with the podcast Fat2Fit Radio and it helped tremendously. I still have a long way to go and need to get more serious about my efforts to continue losing weight, but this book definitely helped me.

I recommend the app to anyone. I don't know if I'd recommend the book to everyone simply because it gets repetitive and is mostly common sense drawn out over 100+ pages, BUT it's something I needed to hear at the time and I'm glad I took the time to read it.

Ok... no real surprises so far (only about half way through the book), I am a professional dieter practically, I have tried everything and I already know that the only way I have lost weight on a diet is sticking to eating better and exercising. Some good concepts and references, and nice section about ways using your fingertip / thumb sections and other parts of your hand to eyeball certain measurements on the fly when cooking. The iphone app is what made me interested in the book, and the good amazon reviews. so far, i do not think it was worth the price but overall an easy interesting read. Skipped past the exercise suggestions since this is something i already knew about since i have a trainer

This is the book from the creators of the Lose It! app and website, which allow you to track your calories eaten and burned daily. Both the app and website are well-designed and easy to use, much like this book.

Lose It! subscribes to the calories in/calories out version of weight loss. No food is off-limits as long as you don't go over your allotted calories for the day. I like this, because I cannot give up bread or cheese.

Plus, I've been doing it for a few weeks now, and have, indeed, lost the weight they said I would if I tracked everything I ate and stayed in my calorie budget.

I plan to keep it up and see how it goes. The book explains why their plan should work.

I gave this four stars because even though a lot of reviewers have criticized it for being nothing new, I thought it was refreshing to read some common sense in the sea of thousands of diet books. Nutrition is nothing more than getting back to the tried-and-true process of "everything in moderation" and staying within a "budget" of daily calories.

The makers of the LoseIt! App are to be applauded and this companion tome is great for anyone trying to make smart decisions in a world of crazy food choices. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and will be returning to it as my process towards better health continues

This book is a companion to the Lose-It! app, a tool for weight loss. The program and the book are no-nonsense, information-filled, and, as over five million people attest, a workable solution to losing and maintaining weight.

It took me a while to work through this book, not because the book's not approachable- it's very well written and an easy read- but because, to be honest, it's not my favorite subject. It's painful at times to see yourself in the light of the mirror- or scale.

But if your goal is weight loss, this is the book for you.

Pretty common-sense exercise advice. I found the charts annoying at times; telling me how much weight I'd lose by giving up my Big Mac-a-day habit doesn't do much for me, given that I don't have one. I'd rather just see the healthier alternative without the ridiculous yearly weightloss column that assumes you eat the same bad for you foods every day.

Overall, though, nothing revolutionary, just some good solid information in a very easy to read format.

This book was great! I started using the app on my iPhone in November, and this book was a great complement to the app, as it gave tips for eating healthier in addition to just watching the calories I'm eating. It also gave some great exercise plans to help further your weight loss and getting into a healthier lifestyle. I highly recommend both the book AND the free app for iPhone and Android!

This is a good book! You need to down load an app that goes with it (FREE) and it has great advice! My husband put this in my pile for my FINAL purchase from Borders and I thought it was for him. Hello! He got it for me. I just need to lose about 12 pounds! Wish me luck!

Very informative. A nice compainion to their interactive web site. The hand sized comparison to portion sizes was very helpful. If you were not a part of their cnline community I don't know if this book would have been as helpful.

Read this Nook book to grasp a better understanding of the Lose It! App, and it helped. On Nook simple touch the would-be color. Bart's are shaded dark grey.
