Since 1928 he lived abroad (Germany, Great Britain, USA). Many famous modern actors went through his unique school of acting. This book includes his the main work, The Actor's Road (Put' Aktera), and his letters to actor Viktor Gromov with his summaries of theatrical studies of Rudolph Steiner (1861-1925) and memoirs about Michael Chekhov by actress A.D. Gromova-Davydova, the wife of Viktor Gromov.

Mikhail Aleksandrovich "Michael" Chekhov was a Russian-American actor, director, author and theatre practitioner. He was a nephew of the playwright Anton Chekhov and a student of Konstantin Stanislavski. Stanislavski referred to him as his most brilliant student.
