Kathleen Turner #1

No Turning Back

Rate this book
Length: 11 hrs and 44 mins

Kathleen Turner has goals. She moved to Indianapolis to start seeing to them, but things aren't going quite as well as she'd hoped. She's a runner for a high-powered law firm in town, not the most prestigious of positions, but it and her part-time bartender gig at least pays the bills. And one of the senior partners is a dreamboat in that obscenely rich, disturbingly good looking, slightly snobbish sort of way.

Before she did a mortifying face plant in his lap during a meeting, she was quite happy ogling him from afar. After that...well...she was more about the avoiding. Mature, no. More likely to assure she keeps her job, yes.

She's made some friends in the few months she's been in Indy. One of those friends is her neighbor Sheila, though Kathleen can't say she's completely comfortable with Sheila's job choice as a high-dollar escort.

It's the middle of the night when Kathleen hears fighting coming from Sheila's apartment. As disturbing as that is, it's the ominous sound of silence afterwards that keeps Kathleen from falling back to sleep. Slipping from bed with the intention of making sure everything is okay, Kathleen knocks on friend's door, only to find Sheila murdered, her naked body sprawled on sheets stained crimson with her blood.

Shock and horror are followed by gritty determination when it becomes clear that Sheila's death isn't random and it isn't the result of a jealous boyfriend. It's the opening gambit in a web of murder, deceit, conspiracy, and fraud that stretches to the law firm for which Kathleen works. Maybe to the very office that Blane Kirk commands.

And Kathleen Turner, law office runner, can trust no one if she wants to survive.

5 STARS!!!!! SENSATIONAL!!!!!!

 photo fuck-yes-fuk-yeah-6bb61e3b7bce0931da574d19d1d82c88-118.gif

I am soooo excited about this new series. I LOVE books like this. Tons of suspense, endless drama, bucket loads of sexual tension, a sweet and adventurous heroine, and not one buy TWO smokin' hot, possessive alphas to battle for her affection!!! It's a PERFECT FUCKING STORM!!!!!!! The only problem.... I can't put the damn book down. I have a LIFE you know!!!

 photo 75cceafcc6ef3f873a7499bad45782b5.jpg

Kathleen Turner is a 24 year old girl, working as a runner at the law firm of Gage, Kirk, and Trent, most likely the most prestigious firm in Indianapolis. She's also pulling some extra hours at night working as a bartender at a nearby bar called The Drop. She's a sweet, innocent girl trying to make a life for herself in the big city, after losing both her parents at a young age. There is only one problem... not only is she a bit of a klutz, she could actually be the poster-girl for BAD LUCK!!!

 photo 07014c66-7136-4812-99df-d8dfc035ae30.jpg

But it is her bad luck that will get her noticed by her firm's most eligible partner, Blane Kirk. Blane was gorgeous and just seemed to ooze success. He walked around that office like he owned the place.... oh yeah, he does own it. He wasn't the kind of guy you could ever set your sites on. Honestly, he scared the shit out of her. And then there was his women... it was a new flavor every month with him. He was just unattainable... So Kathleen just admired him from afar... at least until the day she tripped, landing face first in his lap....smooth move right?

"The problem, as it always was with men like him, was once the chase ended, they lost interest. I knew myself well enough to know I could never have a casual fling with Blane. I'd end up, with a broken heart and a parting gift, no doubt thoughtfully picked out by Clarice."

And from that point on, her life will turn into a whirlwind of danger and suspense, starting with the brutal murder of her good friend and next door neighbor, Sheila. Practically a witness to the crime, but too late to stop it, Kathleen feels she owes it to her friend to bring her killer to justice. But while she's busy trying to solve the crime, she soon may find herself the next target.

 photo BryceThompsonbyMichaelBrus04.jpg

Then along comes Kade Dennon, a tall, dark, and smoldering HOT stranger, who appears to be involved in some way... and NOT a good way. And, yet she also somehow feels drawn to him. But there is danger there. She can sense it. Even so, she still finds herself torn between the Yin and Yang of HOT alpha males, the good and the bad.....or are the roles actually reversed? In a constantly shifting game of whose working for who, she can never seem to figure out who she should trust, or if trust is even an option.

And either way, the game goes on...

"At least this one is more entertaining than the others," Kade said to Blane just loudly enough for me to overhear. "It's like Hooker Barbie masquerading as Nancy Drew."

This was such a fun book to read. I truly didn't want to put it down. It was well written and funny. It was very suspenseful, with all kinds of shocking revelations. Some predictable, some total shockers. And my oh my, our poor sweet heroine is constantly finding herself getting hurt, both emotionally and physically. She did make a few frustratingly STUPID decisions, but always seemed to survive the consequences somehow.

And then there are the MEN. SWEET BABY JESUS, what a pair of hotties!!! One bossy and possessive, but tender, sweet and sexy... the other snarky and threatening, but melts the panties right off your body!!! Gee, what's a girl to do?

I can't wait to see where this series is going. In fact... I think I've said enough... on to book TWO!!!!!

LOVE IT!!!!! 5 STARS!!!!!

What took me so long to start this series? I'm writing this review while I'm already in the middle of the third book in the series...it's so good, I didn't want to pause long enough to form coherent thoughts. So I'll keep this as short as my long winded brain can possibly keep it.

Kathleen and Blane's first meeting is hilarious...she trips and falls facedown in his lap, in front of a roomful of stodgy lawyers, no less. And for months afterwards, she avoids him like the plague around their law firm. He's a partner, she's a lowly runner.

Things happen, Kathleen stumbles upon her neighbor's murder, and Blane is called upon in the middle of the night to be her lawyer...and then sticks around to comfort her when she breaks down.

That sounds like a bad setup, but the thing about this series that I LOVED was how fantastic the story is aside from the romance. No contrived situations meant to lead to sex...this all plays out slowly and with intent. Even the love triangle has a very genuine feel to it. Blane's brother Kade steps in as the bad boy to Blane's good boy, and boy, is he ever the kind of bad boy I love.

Blane...the blonde, pretty boy rich alpha male:

Kade...the dark, mysterious rogue gamma hero:

The back story between these two brothers makes both of them better men in my eyes. I know a lot of readers may automatically take offense to some of Kade's words/actions, but I see bigger things to come for he and Kathleen. He's my favorite type of hero...the ass hole with a history and the potential to be wonderful. I love, love love Kade, although at this point, I can't see any other choice for Kathleen other than Blane. He's solid, dependable, and he's falling for the girl...falling hard.

Kathleen, while being really down to earth and normal, is a pretty kick ass chick. She's not the kind to sit around and expect someone to save her. Add in a healthy dose of naivete, and she make for a great heroine. She wants to do the right thing, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish that. Her skills may be lacking, but her heart and dedication make up for it. Her relationship with Blane is hot, hot, HOT!!!!!! Loads of sexual tension and when the act finally takes place...yum. Just yum. She and Kade have something going on as well, but it's more low key. Definitely there, and you can feel something big between them, but this book is just a taste of things to come, I think.

If this is on your radar, stop what you're reading and start this NOW! If this isn't on your radar, WHY NOT?! WHY? Add it now, you won't regret it.

4 ACTION-PACKED STARS

I've had this on my Kindle forever and have no clue why I didn't get to it sooner. It's got everything I love in a book: two sexy ALPHA men, one naive yet brave heroine, mystery, suspense, adventure and of course, chemistry and sexual tension among the three of them. I'm not a fan of love triangles and it's too early to say if that's how this will pan out but needless to say, loved it.

Kathleen Turner is a 23 year old law firm runner with a side job as a bartender to make ends meet. Her life gets flipped on its ear when her neighbour and one of her only friends is murdered, and she finds the body. Enter Blane Kirk, a partner at her firm and someone she's had several bad run-ins with. Blane is called in as her lawyer when she's questioned by the police.

"Blane was like the proverbial flame - irresistible even though I knew I'd get burned."

But there's a lot more going on than appears and it becomes apparent that Blane is more involved than you'd think. Then there is Kade Dennon, ex-FBI now gun-for-hire who Kathleen meets in a moment of distress. Kade too seems to pop up at the most opportune times and knows a lot more than he lets on.

“They had a lot of rules that got in the way," Kade said dismissively.
"Those are called laws, Kade," Bland said stiffly.
"Whatever they are," Kade continued unperturbed, "I decided I would enjoy myself more as a ...... freelancer."
"Vigilante, you mean," Blane clarified.
"You say tomato......" Kade sighed in mock frustration."

Kathleen is sweet and there were times when I had to suspend belief because this girl was a danger/trouble magnet...

"I knew what it felt like to be hunted."

But Kathleen is a contradiction because despite her innocence and youth, this girl can defend herself...

and the surprising moments of Commando Kathleen added to the fun. This was an entertaining read and had it's LOL moments - "It's like Hooker Barbie masquerading as Nancy Drew."

With two hot men, readers will likely choose sides, come on how could we not? I'm all for the bad boy so Kade all the way.

I'm looking forward to the rest of this series as something tells me, trouble is leering around the corner and it has Kathleen's name on it!

I hate triangles. It's usually a guarantee that they will get on my nerves and I'll end up screaming "Just PICK one you bloody ninny!!!". BUT NOT in this book. This book has done some kind of mumbo jumbo on me because I LOVED IT!

description

description

I didn't even realise it, it just occurred to me about half way through that this is gearing up to be a sort of triangle and I didn't care because I had fallen in love!

So from my effusive gushing you have gathered by now that I really liked this book. It's very well written and traps you in it's web very easily. Kathleen is an extremely likable character and the more you read the more you like her. She's sort of a happy medium, she's badass but not all the time, she cries but again not at every single occurrence and it's justifiable crying, I'd be crying too. Basically she has facets to her character that shine through and I love that. Everyone is multifaceted in the real world and I enjoyed reading it in the fictional world.

Blane Kirk is pretty much a mystery, you do learn things about him during the book but not too much or too deep. I wont elaborate as that would mean huge spoilers. I think it's best if you read this without knowing too much about what is going to happen.

As for the triangle I will say that probably one of the reasons I didn't mind it is because it's not clearly defined as such during the book, at least it didn't feel that way to me. She wasn't in an actual relationship, so no cheating. Just really hot chemistry and attraction between Kathleen and the third party. And to my surprise and astonishment I'm actually routing for the third person!!
description
description
description

Now why not a solid 5? Well I figured out one or two things that hadn't occurred to Kathleen while reading this but I forgive her. So the 0.5 is my pet peeve and also because Tiffany Snow made me like this triangle business and I'm gonna be all angsty until I read all the books and it's hopefully resolved.

Needless to say I totally recommend this book!!

Kathleen Turner, 23, is a runner with a law firm in Indianapolis. She has an embarrassing first meeting with Blane Kirk.

Navy SEAL turned high-profile attorney, Blane is everything a woman could want. The only problem? He’s her boss.

Kathleen’s friend is murdered and it turns out that Kathleen’s life is now in danger.

Now Blane is the only thing standing between her and people who want her dead, including assassin-for-hire Kade Dennon. Beautiful but deadly, he’ll kill anyone who gets in his way, even the woman who makes him question everything he’s become.

I started this book last year and stopped reading it for some unknown reason. As I was re-reading I remembered that I had thought it was a little bit slow in the beginning. But I persevered and was I glad I did. I really enjoyed it.

”My family is Irish.”

I knew I liked you, Kathleen, although with a name like Kathleen, I kinda had an idea…

Her relationship with Blane is starting but there is also a “connection” with Kade. I get the feeling that readers are going to be either Team Blane or Team Kade…. Although with the first book there really is nothing going on between Kathleen and Kade.

”Don’t trust anyone, Kathleen.”

What team was I on? Well, I think most of you might probably know… we have Blane, dresses in suits, is blonde, has a good job and then we have Kade, dresses in leather jackets and jeans, is dark and has a shady past and a questionable job. The names… Blane v. Kade? NAW, I am not at all fickle when it comes to choosing men.

One of the things I missed most about my hometown was the trees. Autumn was my favorite season and I loved watching the leaves turn color

"Princess". I was beginning to detest that nickname

I am looking forward to continuing this series… especially as the FINAL book comes out tomorrow.

4 Stars - Action-packed, thrilling and brazenly romantic well done suspense

Book #1

It was with great anticipation I started listening to the first book in this, by many much loved, suspense (m/f) romance series the other day.

No Turning Back was the first "book-rec" here on GR I got, almost two years ago, from Christine my very first GR friend as well.

description description description description

And, was it as good as some of my friend says?
Yes, absolutely. ~ This was great fun with a sassy tough heroine, two sexy manly gorgeous admirers and a much exciting nail-biting suspense. A story full of twists and surprises.

***********************************************************

# Kathleen Turner (not a joke...her dad was a Ted and her grandma a Tina) is a 23 years old country girl and single in Indianapolis. Since six months. At the nights a bartender and a law firm runner by day.

description

There are two interesting, gorgeous, sexy men as well
Just as the reckless, brave and often silly fearless heroine Kathleen, I also had a hard time to choose. I didn't know what hero I cheered most for. Very different, but both two yummy hunk bits.

# Blane Kirk is a Navy SEAL turned high-profile attorney, and everything a woman could want. As well Kathleens boss. Blane is known for playing the field and the last thing Kathleen needs or wants is to get involved with him.

# Kade Dennon, is a assassin-for-hire and beautiful but deadly, he’ll kill anyone who gets in his way, even the woman who makes him question everything he’s become.
“They had a lot of rules that got in the way,” Kade said dismissively.
“Those are called laws, Kade,” Blane said stiffly.
“Whatever they are,” Kade continued unperturbed, “I decided I would enjoy myself more as a...freelancer.”
“Vigilante, you mean,” Blane clarified.

When her neighbor and sweet friend is murdered
...and it seems Kathleen will be next start a fun and fast-paced adventure. Kathleen soon realizes she can trust no one if she’s going to survive. No one is innocent. Not even lovely Blane. Or the mysterious Kade, or her new friends, her nice rich-boy-date from the office or, as it seems, even her boss. ~ It's just to run. Run fast!

***********************************************************

I once again chosed the easy way and went for the audiobook edition (some sunny poolside days). An 11:30 hrs listening. Pretty good —maybe not the favorite kind of 'voice' in my taste— but anyway, very well narrated by Angela Dawe. The story itself was so good that I forgot about the stuff I didn't like so much.

***********************************************************

description Fun, fun, fun!!
Speed, action and some nice kiss and steam moments. ~ Highly recommended to lovers of the m/f suspense romance genre.

I LIKE - it will be more KT books

Oh come oooonnn. This book, this series...it's everything I've tried to shy away from with it's cheesy dialogue, unrealistic plot and scenarios, insufferable and unnecessary love triangle, and completely unbelievable right-out-of the gate infatuations with the female lead. I didn't believe any of it for a second....

And it's exactly what I need while I'm down and out. I will continue on because I just damn well want to.

4 Fantastic Stars!!

 photo 4e914433-63d5-4266-b01a-403296410507_zpse4037d5b.jpg

This book /series definitely falls into my “why the heck did I wait so long to read it” category! I very much enjoyed reading No Turning Back and have already started Turn To Me and dare I say, so far it is just as good if not better. ღ

Tiffany Snow did such a great job with this book. I love her writing style. She offers something just a little different in the Romantic Suspense genre and I was immediately sucked into the story. The characters were great and the plot was filled with twists and turns and the romantic element was amazing!

Kathleen Turner is a runner for a law firm and while it isn’t that ideal job, it is just her stepping stone for something bigger. Though there were times when I found her a tad frustrating, I loved that she is fearless, feisty and funny. I also loved that she was unknowingly sexy and beautiful.

Blane Kirk is a high ranking lawyer, at said firm, and mmmm he is hot! He is definitely sexy as hell too. He has a reputation for having a “flavor of the month” when it comes to women and when you meet him you will know why!

Kade Dennon is Blane’s brother. There is just something about him that I love but I can’t put my finger on it. He has a natural sex appeal that sucked me in. He is gorgeous, sexy and a bit intense.

When Kathleen finds her neighbor and friend murdered, her life quickly changes and she finds herself in a bit of a problem which leads to a bit of a predicament that will bring her, Blane and Kade together. The craziness that takes place kept me on my toes. I won’t lie there were times when I had to pause to keep everything straight in my mind but I loved it.

Not only do we get a mystery, but the romance in the book makes it all that much better. The chemistry between Kathleen (Kat) and Blane was undeniable and when they finally got together it was rather steamy! But hold on a second. Kade definitely leaves Kathleen with feelings that she doesn’t know what to do with. There were a few moments between the two of them that were sensuous and left me a feeling a bit flustered.

This isn’t your typical love triangle though. No one is cheating on anyone but the connection that each of these men have with Kathleen is real. I am definitely interested in seeing how this will all play out.

I just loved reading this book. I thought the side characters were great and added so much to the story. I loved the back story of Blane and Kade. It gave me a better understanding of the relationship they had and I cannot wait to learn more about Kade.

Now to the oh so important question. Which team am I on? It might be too early to pick but at the moment I am team KADE❤. But a girl can change her mind right! **wink** **wink**

Romantic suspense is at the top of my preferred reading choices. I have my tried-and-true auto-buys that never disappoint. But I'm always on the look-out for something new and promising in the romantic suspense genre. Well, there's definitely promise in NO TURNING BACK. From debuting author Tiffany Snow, this is the first book in her new romantic suspense series that will delight readers. Get ready because this one packs a powerful punch! In some ways it will remind readers of Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. However, in my opinion Snow's "Kathleen Turner" series sizzles with more heat and electrifying chemistry between the main character triangle that is missing in the "Plum" series. I never felt the overpowering desire to complete that series. From the moment I began reading this book I found myself captivated and mesmerized by the writing style, the storyline, the characters, and action-packed suspense filled with twists and turns. It's a pleasure to read from the first page through the last. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment and another adventure with Kathleen, Blane and Kade. Don't ask me to choose my favorite between Blane and Kade -- it's an impossibility. I only know I want more and soon!

I have some really mixed feeling about this book.

I really enjoyed the suspense part. It could be of course a bit more developed but still it is quite interesting and not like all the others. And it is also sufficiently twisted.

But there are also some things that I didn't like about this story or generally in my reads. Those are:

- The first person POV. I generally don't like it in my books and I wasn't impressed with it here.

- Kathleen, the heroine, does some pretty dumb things. I really hoped for her to be one of those strong heroines which fortunately she is sometimes. But most of the time she is a lot like some incarnation of Bridget Jones. When she sees Blake, she just melts and becomes some drooling arm-candy.

- And here is another problem. The whole story is on course to some love triangle which I really hate. Kathleen seems to be fascinated by both Blake and his brother Kade. I hope she wouldn't do something stupid in the next books.

Anyway, I already have the next book in this series on my shelf, so I'm going to read it. Then we will see if I am going to keep on with this series.

*** 5 No Going Back STARS ***

I absolutely *LOVE* this book! I was completely hooked from the very first page. The story is captivating, the writing perfection and the characters are compelling. This book is for those who love action and suspense, infused with a whole lotta lovin. It’s an addictive read that only gets better with every turn of the page.

Kathleen’s character is well rounded and had depth. She has good qualities and bad, indecisive, financial problems, virtues and vices. She's real. Don’t even get me started on Blane and Kade... Best way to describe how I feel, is to really show you ...

The writing is effortless, allowing the reader to just focus on the plot. It builds up the tension and aghast and the more you read, the further it builds. I loved the dialogue - it was juicy, witty and smart, without being cheesy.

All I can say is, just READ IT!!! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!

Say hello to Kathleen Turner, runner for a law firm by day and bartender by night. She found her friend murdered in her apartment one night, and because of her dissatisfaction with the police's investigation efforts, she embarks on a mission to find out who's behind it. She also managed to get her boss involved, the very same man whose lap she face-planted on a while back. He's now her lawyer, but their relationship seems more complicated than that.

This being categorized as romantic suspense, I was unsure if it was for me. I've had experiences in the past when the mystery element in the story didn't interest me enough and I'd find myself skimming just to get to the romance parts. Thankfully, this book had more romance than suspense. The tension between Kathleen and her boss, Blaine, was so delicious! And the introduction of this other amazing character and the conflict that surfaced kept me engaged throughout the entire book.

I was forewarned about the cliches and the dubious plot of this series prior to starting. And true, it's full of those. But I think the ridiculousness of the whole thing is one of the reasons why I loved it so much. It's silly, fun, and super addictive! I was reminded of one of my favourite movies when I was younger, not only because it also had a character named Kandi-with-an-I, but because the main character was also getting into shenanigans while playing investigator. Sure, that movie flopped, but silly and idiotic as it was, I still loved that movie.

Not bad for my first book of the year.

1 - I'm sorry I cant fake it - Stars

Okay I'm going to be blunt. That was some disappointing sh...crap.

 photo large-4.gif

And if you'll look back at my very first status regarding the book, You will see that I was at some point in time enjoying myself. Yes you could argue that I was only 1% into it, but that's beside the point. It was a promising start - and just tumbled down from there.

Kathleen Turner recently moved to the town of Indianapolis, and managed to score a position with a high powered law firm in town, as a runner.

To pay the bills, she also has a second job by night, bartending.

After a horribly embarrassing first encounter with a smouldering hot partner of the firm, Kathleen tries her best to stay invisible.
Though her wish to swoon from afar doesn't go according to plan.

A terrifying night sets in motion a string of events that Kathleen happens to be in the middle of. It's opened up a can of worms - murder, deceit, conspiracy, and fraud that also surrounds the law firm in which she works.

What I was expecting

What I got
 photo tumblr_mhjbya7TVr1s4cqreo1_500-1.gif

My thoughts

1. Waste of time? Check
2. Blushing naïve dumb female? check

3,4,5 Check, check, check.

As I said earlier, the beginning I thought was good. It had potential to be an interesting book. Though the outcome was far from it.

No depth to the story or characters, which is a must. Everything just conveniently happened. As the reader you were to just put your faith into what was being said and done.

I don't think there was a character that didn't annoy me. The relationships were non existent, I felt no chemistry, no connecting or bonding of any kind. When there happened to be supposed steamy scenes, they were just that, supposed. No details. Which come on, we need. The picture in our head is what we're working on here - You don't give us anything to go by, you're going to get one pissed off reader.

The story had too much going on. Or mainly Kathleen's experiences were OTT. Though she was such a naïve character who seemed to trust the wrong people and find herself in such horrible situations, that I can see why that may happen...

 photo tumblr_m57oogY1Xw1qb7rx3o1_500.gif

It was a boring read, to be frank.

I could go on, a give you an in-depth play by play of what I didn't enjoy about this book, but that in itself would be boring.

I really liked this one. It was full of mystery, suspense, and action. I loved Blane, he is so sexy and thoughtful even though he tries to act uncaring.

I also love Kade! He is damaged, dark, dangerous, and delicious.

Kade is all hard on the outside, but soft on the inside. It's not often, but when you do get to see glimpses of him without his tough exterior, it makes you melt completely. It's a difficult choice Kathleen

has to make. I personally, would just take both. This was an on-the-edge-of-your-seat kind of book that was very enjoyable.

A high-octane romantic suspense! This book starts off strong and just keeps on going! Poor Kathleen Turner - no relation to the movie star (I like how other members of her family are also named after celebrities - Tina, Ike, etc) - has two hot men in her life and can she trust any of them?

Really, can she trust anyone?

This romance, the sex, and the suspense are all center stage and the pacing is wonderful. Can't wait to see where Kathleen goes next!

She does befriend a call girl in her apartment building named Sheila.

But someone kills Sheila and all hell breaks loose.

After Sheila is killed Kathleen gets caught in a web of info trying to find out who Sheila's killer is.

Unfortunately, it goes much deeper than that. Now whomever killed Sheila is trying to kill Kathleen.

Not to mention Kathleen is curious if one of the partners at the law firm, hottie Blane Kirk, is somehow involved. She's hoping its not the case since they have somewhat of a relationship

Or maybe its the mysterious hit man, Kade Dennon who has something to do with the scandal.

Will Kathleen find out and keep herself from getting killed?

And which guy will she wind up with? Personally I'm going with Kade.

I LOVED IT!!! HELLS YA! I LOVED IT!

I haven't read a lot of RS, and the ones I have read have been good to very good. But this...This was KAPOW! good! Excellent, kept me on my seat, good! Scrambling for any free minute to read, good! Why, oh why did it take me so long to read this?? I would see it on my friends feeds and think, Hmmm...don't know. Then I was in a book funk and couldn't decide on what to read next despite having a list of December releases and a couple arcs. So I said, ok, I'll try it. I was in the mood for different. Something romantic, yes, but also an intriguing story.

I LOVED IT!! Thanks to Raquel and THE Duchess, Mz. Nicole, I found a new favorite series!! Filled with suspense, scorching romance and a killer plot--no pun intended--this was THE BEST RS I'VE READ TO DATE. Scratch that, one of the best, most intense books I've read recently!

I have so much to say but I would end up with an essay, so I'll list everything I loved and thought:
--Kathleen is cool. She has strong morals and values others. She was real enough to like. A woman with insecurities and hangs ups like the rest of us. I'm not a huge fan of liking two brothers at the same time, but she's a great enough character to overlook it.
--Blane and Kade are fantastic! I'm not rooting for one over the other yet, but both are delicious packages!
--Kade pissed me off with his hateful words and demeaning insinuations. But I figured out maybe it's just his way of dealing with caring for his brother's woman, or woman-to-be.
--The suspense is incredible! Not once did I roll my eyes and say, 'ya, saw that coming,' INCREDIBLE!
--The romance? scorching! tasteful smexy time that makes you blush ;-00
--The pacing was WOW. I couldn't put this down.
--The plot was smart, interesting and loads of intriguing who-done-it.
--Loved all the characters and depth to the story, seriously? where have I been???

I'm off to attack 'Turn To me' cause I can't wait to continue this awesome series!

I was turned on to this Tiffany Snow’s debut book yesterday by another reviewer and all I can say is Thank You! I started the book at dinnertime and could not put it down until I finished it late into the night. I've read some of the other reviews about bad editing, poor plot, etc. but personally I just found the book fun, sexy, suspenseful and fast-moving. I mean, really, its fiction right? It’s supposed to be make believe and the author has license to make her characters do whatever she wants. Yes, Kathleen was silly and naive, but she was so likable. Blane was the typical lead, handsome, sexy with alpha tendencies, but hey, that’s why I read romance novels. Throwing mysterious Kane into the mix just made the book that much spicier. Even though the sexual tension was very hot between Kat and Blane and I was rooting for them to be together, there was one scene in particular with Kat and Kane that just made my heart stutter.

I have already purchased the next book in the series, Turn to Me which I intend to read tonight and I can’t wait!

This was such a fun, engaging book!! I was really in need of something different and this was the perfect choice. I was immediately swept up in the story and it's one of those books you just don't want to put down. The main characters were great. Kathleen got herself into some predicaments, but she was a likable and entertaining character. I easily could have given this book 5 stars, but I hear the books keep getting better in the series so I may as well leave room for improvement:)

As for the romance, I liked Blane but I have to admit the last 20% of the book I developed a big crush on Kade.

We'll just have to see what happens in the next book!!

This first book grabs you right from the start and I can say it held my attention all the way through. This is a love triangle, which I'm not the biggest fan of but I did know that going in. I'm staying open minded. By the end, I really don't know which hero to root for. I actually like them both. Both of them have a tendency to be a bit of a jerk but you do see how they are drawn to Kathleen. As for Kathleen...she has had some really dumb moments. It's a book so I'm suspending disbelief. or trying too. I do like her, I just think she makes some stupid mistakes. Overall, really good.

There’s really only 3 things you need to know about this book: it’s fun, fast-paced and kinda stupid. And by the way, I’m putting that out there as all positives – yep, even that last one. It totally worked with this book, I liked that I didn’t have to take any of it seriously, that I could just sit back and be entertained. It’s what I was in the mood for and this delivered.

Plausibility and logic can kiss my ass when I’m having this much fun.

The only thing I’m a little concerned about right now is the love triangle. I’m nervous that I’ve latched on to the guy who may not end up with the girl in the end. I actually have no clue how this will play out in the series, but I have a bad feeling that I may have picked the loser. Anyway, one last thing - the sexual tension in this book is so awesome, it’s the kind that leaves you a little breathless. There’s something to be said for the fact that there’s great sexual tension between Kathleen and BOTH men, and that I fully bought into it.

I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of this series. I think I'll take a little break though and time this out so that I get to the latest book a little closer to the release of the next (final?) book, so I'm not left waiting after investing myself further into this series. It looks like it'll be a fun ride.

What a nice change from the usual romance I read. Kathleen finds herself in a situation involving dead bodies, conspiracies, fraud, her gorgeous boss Blane and the mysterious Kade.

I like Kathleen but I'm a bit worried her personality is going to get her in more trouble.

Blane and Kade. Which team am I on? I cant decide yet. Both may well be heading on to my book boyfriend list.

For me, this had the perfect mixture of suspense, romance and sex. I liked the pace and the writing style and Im excited to read more of the series.

me trying to erase that I ever listen to this...

sure we can say this is romantic suspense with a very annoying heroine... but the cherry on top there is five books, so four books more of this murder mystery with our dear Kathleen and her LOVE TRIANGLE .... with two brothers...

I will not be reading any more of this!
NOPE!!!

Suspense-filled story with a lot of surprises, twists and turns. Great read!

description

"Most people were afraid of the dark but, to me, the dark had always been comforting. You could be yourself, say anything you wanted to say, and trust the night to keep your secrets."

Kathleen is working as a runner for a prestigious law firm in Indianapolis. Few months ago she moved to the town and made a few friends, one of those friends is her neighbor Sheila, who is working as a high class escort. One night Kathleen hears arguing in Sheilas apartment and then dead silence, so she decides to go check if Sheila is alright, but she finds Sheila dead. Knowing that Sheilas boyfriend is not the one to blame, Kathleen attempts to try to discover who killed her friend. However in her attempts to find out who is behind the murder Kathleen is pulled in a web of murders, lies and conspiracy. Warned that her law firm is somehow involved Kathleen cannot trust anybody if she wants to stay alive.

"I was alone, whether I liked it or not."

The story is a wonderful mix of romance and suspense . It kept me hooked from the very first page and when the plot started to untangle, I was constantly shocked and surprised. I really loved the book. All the crimes and lies were so twisted, they excited me and terrified me at the same time. There was not one boring an uneventful chapter in the whole book, I was anxious all the time. In the beginning the story was quite funny and I didn't expect it to be so suspenseful and hot. There were a lot of great characters, including criminals. I loved Kethleen she was an awesome heroine, she did not do dangerous things just because there was a mystery, but she did them to survive and save others. But most of all I loved Kade and Blaine, ahhh those guys....*sigh* I still haven't decided which one I like better, they are both hot, smart, strong, charming, possessive.. well I totally love them both. Also I liked that the book did not end on the cliff hanger, but the "mystery" was revealed. Lastly, I really did enjoy the book and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one.

"I would do what I could and the rest was in the hands of Fate, the fickle bitch."

This was quite the page turner. Addicting.

I really enjoyed this crazy world full of action.
I appreciated the pace as I felt the story moving forward with every page.

This is the first book of the series....
Do I want more? No. I NEED more. I will continue with book 2.
There's something that keeps me wanting and that makes me happy.

While I can't say it's the best read ever....I Will Say it hooked me! and that's just as good

No Turning Back, the first book in the Kathleen Turner series by self published author, Tiffany A. Snow was free on Kindle and has a large amount of positive reviews. Since I’m all for reading more self published books and one that reminds me of Janet Evanovich’s Stephainie Plum series, I decided to give it a read. The first quarter or so held my interest and one I was invested in. But as the story progressed, the actions of the female protagonist fell into TSTL land and the mystery and crimes grew more ridiculous. I lost interest and could barely finish it. I really do think Tiffany has skill as a writer but No Turning Back needed some editing, and I’m not talking about copy editing. With a few fixes regarding the action and the way things snowballed, including the silly actions of the characters, this could have been a recommended start to a new mystery romance series. Unfortunately for this reader, I had far too many issues and won’t be reading future books in this series.

Kathleen Turner is twenty-three year old runner for a law firm as well as part-time bartender. She lives paycheck to paycheck and is making ends meet but has big aspirations. First she has to get settled and figure out what she wants in life. Her neighbor and friend, Sheila is a high priced escort. You’d think with all the money Shelia makes, she’d live in something more upscale. Kathleen is trying to make her mark at the law firm, but her supervisor doesn’t seem to like her and she does something embarrassing during a meeting to one of the partners of the law firm, Blane Kirk. Blane is an attractive, powerful ladies man and now that Kathleen has made a big goof, she’s trying to stay under the radar so he doesn’t end up firing her. But that’s the least of her worries. She finds Sheila dead in her apartment. It looks like she was killed since there’s blood everywhere. Could a jealous client of Sheila’s been responsible or could Sheila’s sweet and understanding boyfriend have killed her? Kathleen inadvertently becomes involved in the search for Shelia’s killer with the help of Blane. For some reason Blane feels protective of Kathleen, but wants to her to stay out of trouble, although he’s somewhat responsible for making her the latest mark for his enemies who might be same ones who killed Shelia.

Soon poor Kathleen is being shot at and attacked, as well as being romanced and seduced my Blane, who may or may not be involved in some shady dealings. Then there’s Kade, a man who is just as handsome as Blane, but has no affiliation and works in the shadows. At first he scares Kathleen because she thinks he’s been hired to kill her. But you find out he and Blane are working together and have a special relationship that comes as a complete surprise for Kathleen. For some reason Kathleen can’t help but be attracted to Kade also, and between him and Blane she’s thrown into ever more dangerous situations, some of which she’s responsible for because for some reason she can’t leave well enough alone and stay away
.
No Turning Back has a lot to recommend for it. I was hooked in the beginning, but soon I grew bored. Both Blane and Kade are not the most pleasant characters and I really couldn’t see why Kathleen would be attracted to either one of them. Blane is pushy one moment, but then the next acts like a martyr who refuses to give into his attraction to Kathleen because he doesn’t want to use her that way. Kade comes across as a thug who's rude and crude, but he’s forgiven because he’s handsome and has slick moves Kathleen can admire. Kathleen comes across as a twit most of the time. She decides to take it upon herself to investigate some nasty people who can really hurt her and who have more experience in getting rid of annoyances, which is Kathleen. Kathleen has no spying or real investigative skills to speak of and I didn’t find it cute or enjoyable when she’s caught and has to figure out a way to get out of her messes.

The mystery and thriller element has some merit but again the way Kathleen acts, including Blane and Kade with what will most likely be an on-going love triangle grated on my nerves.

I can see a fan base for the Kathleen Turner series and growing readership for Tiffany A. Snow because she has many stereotypical elements readers enjoy. I just wish the plot was more reasonable and not so slapstick at times, which I don’t think was the author’s intention.

No Turning Back is one book I must turn my back on and where I’ll look elsewhere for a more believable thriller with a heroine who may stumble into danger but is smart enough to know when t cut her losses and run to safety.
