This is hands down one of the best research guides I have ever read. We used this in my grad-school intro to research class. The author does a fantastic job explaining all research methods used in science and academia.

This book is very informational on the research process as well as methodologies. It covers issues such as research ethics, plagiarism, the importance of research, as well as how to write a good research proposal before doing a project. I have heard a lot of this information before reading this book, so the read was a bit dry for me, but this book I think is very useful for people who are new to the research process and are not sure what type of research their field(s) fit into. The book is very comprehensive and covers many disciplines, e.g. quantitative methodologies (useful in both science and humanities) as well as qualitative methodologies (useful mostly in the humanities). I would recommend it to those who do not know much about research, what it is, why it is important, and how to go about it.

This is not the kid of book I read by choice. It is the kind of book I ead becuae I feel I have to, andm in this case, I did. I am surprised at how much I have gained from this book. It has taken most of the day to read. I have put together a mind map with notes and it is in a form I can refer to again. The book is divided between theory and practice and methods. What I like about is that it explains complicated issues in simple and understandable terms. Tis is why I have given it 5 stars.

This book is a great introduction to research. Some parts were a bit too specific to the UK for my liking. Also, I would have liked for it to go a bit more in depth with how to do research in the humanities. I read this for a class and I will definitely reference it in the future.

This was a reference book for my class.

It is very accessible and easy to read and understand. For a beginners this may be an ideal book to pick up because the author makes few assumptions about the knowledge of the reader.

As always with reference/textbooks it is on the dryer side of things.

Very helpful if you are social scientist carrying out a research project. It was recommended reading on my MSc Computer Science and has helped me to understand some of the requirements of a research project. I believe if I were studying social sciences this book would have been an enormous help.

Well written book. The subject was not interesting to me because I have been working in the field for so long. But, I did enjoy it.

I think Nicholas Walliman made a good effort in compiling this publication regarding the major methodology for scientists and business executive. This was quite detailed and specific with a number of situations, fulfilled with the essential tips regarding basic methods and major practices. The writing style seemed specific and approachable. Overall, this is a publication applicable for anyone concerned about research methodology for different purposes.
