JavaScript is a high-level, interpreted, dynamically typed, or untyped programming language that was originally designed for use in web browsers. It allows client-side scripts to interact with users, control browsers, communicate asynchronously, and change the Document Object Model of a web page (DOM). It's sometimes referred to as the browser's language. JavaScript engines, such as NodeJS, can be used to run JavaScript on the backend. To retrieve data or transfer information, JavaScript code can interface with databases and other APIs on the backend.
