Trebizon #11

The Ghostly Term at Trebizon

Rate this book
If only that deer hadn't leapt out in front of the car as they were driving back to Trebizon for the start of Rebecca's year in the fifth! With tennis and hockey ruled out because of her broken wrist, and Robbie blaming herself for the accident, Rebecca has only her GCSE course work to look forward to.

Until, that is, she meets Cliff. Along with a ghostly figure, a strange cat and a stealthy intruder in Court House, he provides the excitement and intrigue to be expected.

An elite single sex school. Girls doing homework assignments and meeting boys from other schools. A car accident causes one of them to not be able to play tennis for a while. There's sort of a ghost in this book...but very little of that.

Rich people problems in a very conservative setting. A mild sedative to stop you thinking.

What a great read! Really enjoyed reading about the girls havign to figure out their future studies and careers. It was also nice to see Rebecca seeing people from her past we haven't met before. Cliff is nice. The mystery was easy to figure out but it didn't prevent me from loving the book!

Without much sport due to Rebecca's cast, it really felt like something was missing. I was terrified that the book was going to be cheesy what with the Very Special Episode title but thank goodness the mystery really doesn't take much space at all. I loved Cliff, I hope we see more of him. I also really enjoyed the careers dilemma and the kids taking decisions for their future lives. Wondering what Rebecca's going to settle on. The ending seemed to imply she was interested in philosophy. We'll see if my theory's right!

This one I have definitely read before, although it wasn't published until I was 18, I must have picked it up somewhere and at least skim-read it at some point. I couldn't remember the plot clearly and I think it's a bit weak compared to some of the others. Enjoyable to catch up on all the same.

A decent if not super exciting in the series. Rebecca suffers an injury and winds up concentrating on her schoolwork for once rather than her tennis. A new "boyfriend" is introduced.

Finally Rebecca gets to be the brilliant student she could so clearly be, if she wasn't always off playing tennis. And it's nice to see her relationship with Cliff - obviously I'm on Team Robbie, but Cliff is a great character and he does Rebecca a world of good. The story also conveys the frustration of having an injured wrist, even when it's your non-dominant hand.

The mystery continues

Despite Rebecca suffering a changing injury the six have 3 puzzles to sort out. The mystery of the ghost proves 3 issues before it all gets sorted
