Taking a road trip across country is something that Evan Pierce has always wanted to do. What he doesn’t expect is to get involved in a gang shooting in Denver, or ending up in the hospital for the next three months.

When he wakes up from his coma everything is different. His dreams are someone else's reality, visions of past events. When Evan teams up with private detective Chase Hansen, who's in charge of finding a missing girl, sparks fly between them. What started out as a road trip might have turned Evan's life into a mess, but it may also give him a sense of purpose, a new home, good friends, and a lover.

This is one of those books that I sincerely hope gets turned into a series.

Evan gets caught in a gang shoot out and ends up in a coma for a month and hospital bound for two months after that. When he wakes up he's having visions and they're not nice visions. They're not nice visions at all.

Evan's having dreams where he's seeing through the eyes of a kidnapped girl who's being held hostage. The girl's family has hired a P.I. firm to handle their case and the first thing Evan does when he gets out of the hospital is to go to the P.I. firm and tell them what he knows. Why? Because Evan is a good guy, that's why.

I really liked Evan because he was just a plain old good guy through and through. He knew that it would look suspicious, walking into the P.I. firm with a bunch of pertinent information but he still did it.

I can't say that I only liked Evan though because I actually liked every character in this story. Chase, the head of the P.I. firm and Evan's love interest, was a sweetie. He gives Evan a place to stay and keeps him safe because Evan is a bit of a trouble magnet.

Then there's Toby and Kay, the other two P.I.'s who play as much of a part in the story as Evan and Chase. They become Evan's friends and make him feel like he's a part of something.

The thing I liked the most about this story was reading about how the relationships and friendships developed. Everybody got to know each other and all of the characters clicked. As a group, Evan, Chase, Toby and Kay were funny together.

Also, there's more than one case in the story which I loved because it made me feel like I was watching a crime show on television. These characters would be great in a series.

This was one of the better stories that I've read in the last few months. I'll be looking out for more from this author.

ETA: Re-read on 2/02/12 and I loved it even more the second time around. The way this story progressed and the way the author really had everyone get to know each other is something that more authors should do.

This book is the perfect balance of mystery, romance and friendship. I also loved that it had such a positive and kick-ass female character.

Please, please, please let this turn into a series.

Evan Pierce wakes up from coma with a new set of reality. His dreams are related to a missing girl's case. After his latest dream reveals the kidnapper's face, Evan goes to the PI office hired to find the girl and meets the boss, Chase Hansen, and his employees Toby and Kay. As Evan trying to help Chase solving the case, the two of them form instant attraction. Soon, Evan finds himself with a new adventure of his life, which include new life, new friends, and (potentiall) new lover.

Perfect Knowledge is a light story in the setting of private investigator agency with likeable characters. There is a sense of development in Evan, as he joins Chase and his employees to solve cases based on HIS dreams. First, he is a bit unsure of himself. After losing his very best friend, then spent three months in hospital after being deeply injured, and wakes up with nightmares about criminal cases, Evan blooms to a more confident person. Oh, he is still a trouble magnet (meaning that he seems to attract trouble everywhere he goes: he gets mugged, shot at, roughed up, hit while in his car, and trapped in elevator while the building is on fire ... but he also settle into his new life with a purpose. I love reading his relationship with Chase blooms.

When I say likeable characters, that is because I enjoy everybody here. Chase, Toby, Kay, even the police officer, Jackson. It's really cute to read how Chase is always trying to protect Evan, especially when he realizes that his lover seems to always in trouble. Toby is a ladies-charmer and Kay is a kick-ass young woman.

The story actually has three mysteries. All of them are being brought into the agency because of Evan's dreams. However, near the end, Evan's dreams are not only about the past but seems to be about the future as well, which is intriguing. I would love to read more about them. The writing is enjoyable. I particularly love this one ...

"You and I…"
"Yes?" Evan asked hopefully.
"Are going to boff like bunnies, do the wild thing,
boink like minks, do the nasty, meld in the dark, do the
bone dance, do the horizontal tango, get jiggy with it,
knock boots, rock the Casbah, and nail each other to the
mattress."

This story and its characters are cute. It is an easy, fun read- despite one character having an apparent dark past, the mood is positive and there isn't a lot of angst (I like angst as much as the next person, but a lot if authors expect overwrought emotional issues to carry the story).

The major flaw is that it is just kind of bland. Maybe it needs more angst. The characters don't seem to meet a lot of challenges, it is all just a little too easy. It is long, and I think it just drags a little.

The premise, a guy who starts dreaming about crimes, is a good one. However, everything falls into place so perfectly. His dreams are perfectly timed and placed, guided by some unseen force so that their purpose is unmistakable. They have easy access to whatever they need- police who don't mind their vigilante crime fighting, people willing to give up top secret information to ex boyfriends, ready cash to buy the shiny need convertible that catches their eye. It all feels contrived and scripted, rather than real.

The romance is OK. I don't really mind easy romances, without a lot of strife, but this one feels too easy for some reason. They are just a little too agreeable. The sex scenes are fairly generic- they focus more on what is happening then trying to draw the reader in, which is pretty normal bit not my preference. They certainly aren't bad, just not extraordinary.

As everyone know from preview it’s about a guy named Evan who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and so he got shot - 2 times. After waking up in hospital we are told "readers" that he was in a coma for 1 month and in a hospital all together 3 months. From the point he woke up he is having vision dreams. And his first vision dream is about young women Jessica. Evan knows she was abducted and is in trouble. So he does the right thing and goes to Hansen Detective Agency whose case that is.

The boss of that detective agency is Chase. Because Chase has good feeling about Evan he invites him to stay with him and help them out. Evan stays there to the end and even they became a couple.

Plot is too easy from my point of view, one of problems I see is:

Evan has dream visions and they fallow it true and case is close. We have happy ending without much of problems.

The book is long but inside we are part of 3 cases in same fallow up: dream, looking for leads and getting the bad guy.

I recommend that book to those who are not looking for a big firework but a lot of small fires.

This is an interesting book. I felt like there were so many flaws while I was reading, enough to pull me out of the story once or twice, but this book still managed to keep my interest for a majority of the time. I guess there was enough action to make me want to turn the page and the characters were so likable...though, Evan did get a little too TSTL towards the end there.

If there hadn't been any sex in this it would have been 5 stars, but, for me those scenes were very off putting

2.5 stars? Maybe 2.75? This story gave me whiplash. No build up, no background, flat characters, and a rushed relationship that left my head spinning. It seemed like the characters were relegated to private detectives so the author wouldn't have to do any research on police procedures. The reasons Chase had for leaving the police department were weak and would rarely happen in real life.

4.5 stars.🌟 A great psychic mystery romance story.  Evan and Chase are great, they solve one case and get another as Evan's visions rattle him in the mornings. The help of Kay and Toby the four of them quickly become close freinds. This book is written to keep you glued reading.
Evan wakes after 3 months in a coma in hospital after a gang shooting.. he catches a news item in tv of a missing girl from 2 weeks ago. He knew details they had where wrong..
Detective Chase Hansen was on her case to find her. Chase was ex cop and had worked with pyschic people before so when Evan approached the agency they believed him.
Wow Chase is a fast mover, first he gets Evan to stay at his place, second they get through the door chase tries to kiss him..
What happens next is one hell of a ride..

I really enjoyed this book. Rather than solving just one crime, the team closes several cases. It felt like I was watching episodes of Criminal Minds or Supernatural. The thing that surprised me, was how much I enjoy the romance. It was actually more of a subplot with the suspense taking front and center. Nicely paced and very well written. I look forward to more from this author.

Really enjoyed this one - definitely more plot than sex - for those of you who like that :) It's a nice mystery / private detective story with fun characters and more than romance to the story.
