Madison Glenn, busybody mayor, and now running for congress, gets involved in murder and mayhem when her niece, an actress comes to town. It appears a maniac is killing people off like in the niece's movie script.

Pretty engrossing, but still a bit too much like a movie on the Lifetime Channel.

A decent book by Gansky, although it leaves many loopholes open when it comes to 'what happened' and how the series really expands from there. Alas, Mr. Gansky left it there... a cliffhanger of sorts, and moved on to greener, more Christian pastures.

I did not feel the overhwelming Christian feel in this book that was present in the second book, however, it is still present and somewhat of a distraction. No, call it more of an annoyance to me, but that is purely editorial of me to say. The story progressed nicely and the plot was decent, better than I expected it to be, honestly. Gansky improved the realism in this book and built on, in my opinion, some of the strengths of the first book and weaknesses from the second.

As murder mysteries go, this was no John Verdon or Tess Gerritsen, but it has its own niche, a wholesome and entertaining read. The pages flow like water and you can polish it off in a weekend, should you have the time to invest. I will admit, I may actually want to check out some of his other stuff... whereas after book two I was sure I'd steer clear.

Well done, Alton. You may have won part of me back over to your side.

Liked this book. Good weave of murder mystery with different relationships being developed throughout the storyline. I liked all of his characters and it kept me guessing til the end. This wasn't a "can't put it down" kind of book, but still enjoyable to read.
