Praise for Tawny Taylor
"Delicious taboo sex and intrigue. . .irresistible!" --Eden Bradley on Darkest Fire
"Absolutely delicious!" --Kate Douglas on Dark Master
Nothing exciting happens in Tawny Taylor's life, unless you count giving the cat a flea dip--a cat can make some fascinating sounds when immersed chin-deep in insecticide--or chasing after a houseful of upchucking kids during flu season. She doesn't travel the world or employ a staff of personal servants. She's not even built like a runway model. She's just your run-of-the-mill, pleasantly plump Detroit suburban mom and wife.
Ummmmm....not quite 1 star, so 2 it is. Why? I've had to think about this, so.....
I've read TT's works for years, starting with Ellora's Cave, and Aphrodisia etc and enjoyed them for what they put across - mainly very hot m/f sex scenes. So, entertaining, easy to read, sweaty in places, and usually hitting the right spot. The two previous books in this series were good, so I don't know what's happened here.
The premise is good: Amanda, a stubborn, clever PI, with an inclination for hot sex when the mood occurs; Zane, a closet vampire, with dominant tendancies who gets an immediate attraction for Amanda; a cheating-husband case where Amanda is trying to prove infidelity for her client; and all the set up one could envisage for a rollicking, sex-laden story.
So, where does it go wrong? There are two amazingly wrong storylines.
The 'husband-cheating' investigations, which Amanda undertakes with her friend and co-worker, Sarah, remind me of a Keystone Cops film, where if anything could go wrong it does. It is slap-stick comedy without the fun; it's silly mistake after silly mistake which no PI would make; it is naivety in the extreme, and it totally doesn't work.
As for 'Master' Zane, growly voice and occasional stern directions do not make a Dom. He is pathetic - even for a vampire; and his logic for not f**king women is decidedly lame (even though it is written with the intent that the reader feels sorry for his angst). The parts of the book where Zane f**ks his MALE blood donor, are stilted and hard to read - it's almost as if the author has introduced a m/m element just to satisfy the curious; and 'vampire powers'? What? Where? Did I miss them? NOPE. They just weren't there.
And the finale/conclusion/last blast is too ridiculously trite: author says "there, that's the solution, suck it".
This is A recommended read the highest mark we give
Mandy Thompson, one of the best private detectives in Metro Detroit, is on a case for her client, Allison Clark, the wife of Andrew Clark. Mandy enjoys her reputation of being tenacious as a bull dog. Now she’s pretending to be a waitress in a local BDSM club, where she was hired by Zane Griffin. When Zane asks her to work his private suite, he discovers the camera she has on her body and throws her out of the club. But he can’t forget about her. He becomes obsessed with her. But Zane has a few secrets of his own; he’s a Vampire and Mandy has awakened the beast within. He has to find her and make her his.
Dangerous Master by Tawny Taylor is the third book in her Masters of Desire series and is a book I’ll be keeping on my shelf. I loved how Ms. Taylor blended dark BDSM and intense sexual energy in this book. She breathed real life into these characters and I cheered for them both. The intensity of this book kept me turning the pages.
Mandy is tough and prides herself on being the best in her field. I liked how Mandy managed to stay very feminine in a field which requires her to be as hard as nails. She’s loyal, and completely fascinated by Zane and his type of BDSM. Zane has been around for a very long time. He’s tall, dark, and handsome and has the perfect bad boy image. He’s also a Dom, who knows what he wants and goes after it with all of his might. Together these two characters are amazingly sexy and they were a joy to read. I won’t be forgetting this book anytime soon and I’m looking forward to the next book by Ms. Taylor. I can’t wait to see which vibrant characters she brings alive in her next book.
I have wanted to do one of those blind dates with a book for quite a long time. My only hesitation has been thinking I might have already read whatever the mystery book is. When I saw this for obscure romance reads on Etsy, I knew I had to give it a shot and of course I opted for Carolina reaper spice because why not?!
Private investigator Mandy Thompson is hot on the heels of a cheating husband, at the request of his wife, and tracking him to all his kinky haunts, including sex parties, bondage clubs and more. In her efforts to blend in with the participants, she meets a handsome stranger named Zane. Immediately, he has some sort of spell over her that makes her lose her inhibitions and she, in turn, makes him want things he hasn't before. Can these two crazy kids make it work?!

This was out there. Even for some of the random stuff I pick up out if curiosity. 🤣 I didn't see the initial twist about Zane coming, but of course he couldn't just be a regular dude.
I feel like the start of the book was really hot, but there's not enough vampire spicy elements in it. A big chunk of the book is dedicated to Mandy tracking Clark but it doesn't go anywhere then when they finally do get him it's underwhelming. Zane is ultra hot but in the end he kind of feels meh. The sex scenes are really hot I will say. Like this book started off really strong but towards the middle to end it sort of wraps up in a way that leaves you feeling meh. Like the way it was going had potential. Maybe there was too many conflicts going on it's hard to say. Still a good read

In Dangerous Master, Tawny Taylor has done it again. She has written yet another deliciously HOT read with an equally delicious developed plot line and believable characters. This is not just another erotic novel. Ms. Taylor has devised a fully developed plot that weaves mystery and suspense to keep you turning pages.
Mandy Thompson is a Private Investigator that is known as "Bulldog" because she manages to dig beneath the surface and uncover secrets about other people. While working on a case, Mandy meets Master Zane Clark and finds herself revealing HER most intimate sexual fantasies while delving into the dark and dangerous passion. Mandy finds she is no longer in control and gives herself freely over to the passion and ecstasy that Master Zane can giver her.
Ms Taylor has crafted another erotic D/s novel but with an usual twist. I will not reveal the twist within this review because I feel that would be a spoiler and I don't give spoilers.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a well written read with mystery and suspense.
**WARNING** This novel is sexually explicit. Like I said in the first sentence...Dangerous Master.....is a HOT read!!

Wow, I really enjoyed this book! Amanda (Mandy) Thompson is a private investigator who tracks down cheating husbands. To catch one of them in the act, Mandy follows him into a BDSM bondage club and stumbles into the deliciously mysterious Master Zane. Their chemistry is scorching hot! And what Master Zane does to Mandy (and ME!) is just... phew! :)
"Within this world of dark and dangerous passion, she (Mandy) gives in to her desire for extreme pleasure."
This book delivers a story complete with suspense, humor, emotions, and smokin' hot smex!

Not expecting to like this much, but was pleasantly surprised. The primary character, Amanda (Mandy) is a PI and her assistant/ditzy friend, really has some funny lines. The love interest, Zane, is a Dom who interferes with Mandy's investigation of a submissive in the D/s club. He destroys two of her hidden cameras, and removes a third, but he really is intrigued by her. I would rate it 3.5 but not good enough for a 4.
Had no clue what I was in for with this one, been on my shelf for awhile and was my first Tawny Taylor book. FYI, there are vampires lol! I was prepared for the BDSM, knew that from the blurb but no clue it was also paranormal as well. At times I was skimming the PI stuff because Amanda just didn't seem very proficient as an investigator. The BDSM was hot and very frequent, I'll say that lol. If you're squeamish about m/m this is not the book for you!!
Decided to read this book again and whilst it was fairly well written I just didn't enjoy the story line. I actually didn't go much on Zane and Bruce's relationship throughout the book mainly due to the fact Zane was supposed to have this conflicting attraction to Amanda but yet still needed to feast on his male love. Yeah just wasn't really my thing.
I don't even know where to start with this book. It was an ok book. I honestly can not believe I even paid that much money to read this. It was def not worth it
