B.J. Daniels started her life in Houston, Texas, before her family moved to Montana at age five. She grew up in a cabin in the Gallatin Canyon near Big Sky and later on Hebgen Lake near West Yellowstone. Because of her love for Montana, most of her books are set there. Born into a storytelling family, all she'd ever wanted to do was write stories. After a career as an award-winning newspaper journalist, she wrote and sold 37 short stories before she finally wrote her first book, ODD MAN OUT. Since then she has won numerous awards including a career achievement award for romantic suspense. She lives in Montana with her husband, Parker, two Springer Spaniels. When she isn't writing, she quilts, boats and. makes rope/fabric baskets. She always reads, loving to lose herself in a good book.
Jinx Clarke wanted revenge against the rustlers who had killed her father in cold blood! For that, she was willing to go to any lengths to achieve her purpose. Craftily, she disguised herself as one of the hands, infiltrating their band for yet another raid on a cattleman's ranch. The only trouble was, Dawson Chisholm got in the way.
Dawson wasn't like any of the men Jinx had known before. He was proud, determined and unfailingly charming. Driven by the need to retrieve his stolen cattle, Dawson is unwilling to give up Jinx. Even though he realizes Jinx is probably more trouble than she's worth, there's something about the fiery woman that appeals to him. Sparks fly and Dawson finds himself ensnared in her pair of lovely eyes.
Still, Jinx cannot allow herself to be turned from her single-minded purpose. She swore on her father's grave that the men who caused his death would be brought to justice. Mustering her courage, Jinx turns from Dawson to follow a lead into Wyoming, to the man behind the rustler's trail, the field responsible for her father's death. The one problem was, Jinx hadn't counted on Dawson following her on a trail that might very well be the death of both of them.
This is Jinx' and Dawson's story. And they meet in the most unlikely of places - in the middle of a nowhere!!
Jinx is a female rustler, but really she's not. But she is on a mission to find the man who killed her father.
Dawson just so happens to be out riding his horse when he comes across a group of rustlers trying to steal some of his cattle.
And because it's also a forced proximity romance, he somehow captures Jinx thinking she's up to no good. When he finally figurs out what when up to, he actually tried to help her.
Okay, so she figures out who killed her dad and all ends happy!!
But then not really. This story is also about Emma and Holt. Emma actually get kidnapped in this book. And this is the part of the story that's unresolved and left open. We don't know how it ends as the series isn't over yet. Should be interesting as the story progresses.
Another in the Chisholm Cattle Company series in which oldest brother Dawson heads out to clear his head of the recent arrest of his father for murder. He happens upon rustlers moving his cattle and soon discovers that a woman is running with them. She's a jinx, alright, but one who shakes him up in ways he wasn't anticipating.
Back home the other brothers are trying to find out what happened to Emma, their father's most recent wife. Trying to unravel her disappearance soon leads to all manner of other excitement, which begins to look like it will get their father out of jail and reunited with Emma, but the woman who started it all looks like she may still be capable of making trouble.
B. J. Daniels always writes a great story. This is the third story in the Chisholm Cattle Ranch storyline. I had not read the others but this story could stand on its own.
Dawson Chisholm goes into mountains to check on the cattle and be by himself while worrying about his father being charged with father. He catches rustlers taking cattle and is able to catch a rustler. Imagine his surprise that the rustler is a woman, Brittany “Jinx” Clarke.
I absolutely have loved Rustled. It is one of those books you start and cannot put down. There is suspense, mystery and alot of action in this book. I love all the books in this series and others by B.J. Daniels. Her style of writing captivate you until the end. Thank you B.J. Daniels and now I'm on to the next adventure.
So far this was my favorite. I love how the story of Aggie investigating Hoyt's wives deaths, runs simultaneously with each of the stories about his sons. This time it was Dawson and Jinx. The ending was a cliff hanger leaving you wondering who's help in Aggie, and what will happen next. On to book 4 in the Chisum Cattle Company series!
The stories are great . The first time I read them there was a wait between did not enjoy that. Now they are all there to read and I am much happier with the story line.
This lady knows how to keep her readers hooked with the suspense of something going to happen. This Whitehorse series is fantastic. It moves quickly in the book so you don’t get bored. Another great job!
Still don’t like cliffhangers!!! In every book in the series there is a unique, imaginative meeting. Still filled with suspense and drama. Part of the mystery with Hoyt’s ex wives was revealed, one supposedly dead wife has not been found. 3 books remain in series.
Dawson and Jinx meet when is working with some cattle rustlers and were steeling Dawson’s family’s cattle. Jinx is trying to find the head of the cattle ring that killed her father. Jinx saves Dawson from the stampede and then begin their relationship. There is also another story line about Emma, Dawson’s Step-Mother. And his Father. I liked the characters, especially Jinx. This is a fast reading book. It can stand alone, but is obviously a part of a series as it has a cliffhanger. I enjoyed the book and would read others in the series.
At his remote mountain hideout, Dawson Chisholm's peace is shattered by rustlers. As his cattle are herded away, he captures one of the rustlers who, to his surprise, is a woman. Nicknamed "Jinx", she swears she's an undercover investigator but has no proof--and Dawson has no choice but to hang on to her.
Brittany Bo "Jinx" Clarke is determined to single handedly bring down the ringleader, and Dawson just wants to get his cattle back. They'll have to work together to accomplish both their goals. But spending 24/7 together--just the two of them against a band of thieves--presents another problem: resisting the attraction growing between them.
Another great Whitehorse Montana Chisholm Cattle Company and this brother manages to rustle up more than he bargained for.
As always, this series was more than expected. The characters were sexy, strong, humorous, caring, and found a new life for themselves that they more than deserve. The story of Hoyt Chisholm and the 6 sons he adopted, never gets old, but in this book I found my self even more invested in all of the brothers. Between the troubles the family was having, the rustlers that Dawson was dealing with, and the knowledge trip that Zane went on, I had a whole mix of emotions. I love a story where you get invested in the characters and almost feel as if they are your own family and this series always proves to provide that. The author is very skilled and I never miss a book by her. As long as she keeps writing, I'll keep reading.
Yet again I get pulled into a series mid-way through. Having no idea what happened in the books before (or after) here is what I though about the book.
It seemed a little forced, but the girl is ok and yet I didn't like the guy. Dawson just didn't do it for me. Bo is nothing more than ok, but her backstory is good, and you sorta want to see her happy.
However, the secondary plot had me more in tune. I wanted to know more aboout Emma and Aggie! They get the three stars. I really like step mama Em.
Not bad for a category but I do have one gripe. There were unresolved issues in the end that I didn't like. There were really two stories going on. Apparently, one of the stories started in previous book in this series. The main story was about a cowboy who finds rustlers on his property and captures one of them. The continuing story had to do with the cowboy's adopted father. I enjoyed it enough to want to find the next book and get the answers to the unresolved issues.
This is the third book of a series and I was not as thrilled about this book as I was the first two. There are definitely two plus stories going on at once and maybe that's why I didn't find it as appealing as the first two. I really can't wait to find out what happens with Hoyt and Emma. That hopefully will be as good as what it is implying.
Boy was he surprised find out it was a girl trying to steel his cattle. She had good reason to go undercover and work with the bad guys. If some one killed my father i would also want revenge. they both got what they wanted in the end,, Him his cows ND HER TO BRING HER FATHERS MURDERER TO JUSTICE..
The story of dawson catching a woman who was helping with cattle rustling on the rach.also more about aggie and hoyts missing wifes.this is the 3rd book in the series.I just cant wait to read the rest of the series.Very well written and hard to put down.
Though these first three books have had great stories of trial and love - things have been getting interesting with the story of Hoylts wives, Emma and Aggie!!
Laura - wife #1 - hmm interesting thought as to why things have been happening!
