This book was printed on 1949. The author Vincent Sheehan was having premonitions of Mahatma Gandhi’s murder. He travels to India as a reporter. There is a mixture of that story and him retelling Gandhi’s life story. I found it a bit hard to read but did enjoy his view point and the in-site into Gandhi’s life.

Very well written. Enjoyed reading about Gandhi, I felt I was there in several situations. Recommend for those seeking an insight into a wonderful individual.

I read this book when I was in high school and it inspired me and helped me understand the concept of non-violent protest. Looking back I realize that Sheean was attempting to define Gandhi as a philosophical Christian and I'm just not sure that is a useful conceit. Nonetheless, the book meant a lot to me at the time.

I read the main narrative and the appendix on the Gandhi-Gita. The book was a strange combination of personal narrative and biography, but the author's vantage point was interesting and made his analysis worthwhile.
