I found this book as I was looking through the Time Machine section of the Bookstrand website and loved the blurb. I love a bargain and this is one of the many ways I find new to me authors.

The blurb for this book -- as well as the cover -- caught my attention and I had to add it to my basket and I wasn't disappointed.

Sarah is at the Gideon Ranch and Lodge in search of a con artist. That being said, she has a few problems: a) she doesn't know what "Lucky" looks like or what name he is currently using; b) the only time she could get access to the ranch was during one of the menage weekends; and c) she feels so out of place in her little black dress and her not so model like figure.

Barrett Gideon is not in the mood for love or romance or anything that has to do with this whole menage weekend. Just being dumped by the woman he thought was the love of his, his brother's insane and misguided attempt to save the ranch by handing over all the operating cash to some PR rep and finding his favorite cousin, Chris, is back for the weekend is just the icing on the cake.

Chris Gideon is back at the ranch after a prolonged absence. He feels ostracized by Barrett and he's stayed away trying to come to terms with how he feels. Barrett never fails to poke fun at him for his quickie marriage several years ago not realizing that Chris truly loved the woman. That's why he never told Barrett about the child that came out of the relationship.

When Chris starts chatting up Sarah, Barrett can't help but be intrigued by her, he makes his move -- both he and Chris pin her for the weekend. Chris is definitely into Sarah and couldn't give a flip whether Barrett is in or not.

What worked for me: Hot and steamy sex and giving a woman what she needed but didn't even realized she wanted.

What didn't work for me: Sarah believing everything that Barrett's brother had to say without giving Barrett a chance to weigh in with his side of the story. Sarah is a strong woman who came to the ranch on her own to investigate this shady character but yet she runs at the first opportunity. Even if Barrett had confirmed his brother's story, she also left Chris without an explanation.

Would I recommend this book? Heck yeah!!! Very well written and after some shenanigans a happily ever after.

A ménage retreat/ranch about to go into the red, an amateur sleuth/ménage newbie and some smoking hot ranch owners all make for a very interesting read.

The story starts with a nice dose of backstory and set up for the plot. There is actually no sex or sexual play until page 33! This isn’t a detraction, however. I was most impressed with the plot of the book. There was actual intrigue and deception and scheming and plotting.

Our heroine, Sarah, is out to capture the bad guys. Her friend, Carol, is out to capture the bad guys, but ends up leaving with the person Sarah is after. The Gideon brothers (and cousin Chris) are trying to make the most of their business but are at risk of letting the “bad guy” scam all of their money. Everyone is keeping secrets from everyone else.

In the mean time . . . it’s all about the ménage. After all, that is why everyone is there for the retreat. The snowstorm and power outage make for some interesting plot twists. It also makes for an interesting interlude in the cab of some snow removal equipment! BDSM is de rigeur at the ranch and Sarah is new to this also.

The plot takes its twists and turns, though nothing is truly unexpected. Barrett (the eldest brother) is a bit growly and petulant, but he is an excellent complement to Chris. In turn, they both are a nice complement for Sarah, who is inexperienced and low in self-esteem at times, but is truly intelligent and knows her own mind. While the sex and ménage aspect is very much there, this is, at its heart, a romance.

Trio is an enjoyable departure from the typical romance, and also from the typical erotica. Give it a try today!
