Writing/Talks

Rate this book
These talks represent a unique collective project with each contributing writer talking and responding to a community of peers for whom writing is a central activity rather than a cultural object. The talks range from lecture to free-for-all conversation in form and from formal analysis to new modes of non-narrative writing in subject.   Some of the writers examine their own work. Others look at the work of contemporaries or earlier writers from Homer through Stein, Olson, and Spicer. Other subjects considered include the theories of writing and desire, feminist writing and gay writing, and the effects of the arms race on contemporary writers.
