Wuhuuuuuu!!

An amazing book. I love reading it because it has a nice message about finding someone to play with. (Seven year old daughter).

For my two cents worth, I can’t believe this isn’t a universally loved book. It has beautiful illustrations, lovely repetition and flow. And a cute bear that loves exploring but ends up in a warm safe place. Reminds me a lot of Corduroy.

An adorable story about a bear who know where he is going, and if he doesn't he looks to his surroundings to decide what he should do. Great illustrations, a great toddler story time choice.

Charming pictures, but this story is just a rather conservative example of adventure/return.

Lovely illustrations and a cute story but not the most positive message about exploring!

Beautiful illustrations, but so sad! I'm sure it traumatised me as a child.

'Sailor Bear' tells the story of a small bear who had no one to play with so decided to be a sailor bear and sail on the sea. The bear encompasses many problems on the sea, until eventually he is found by a little girl and they play together happily just like small bear wished for all along.
This book has elements of repetition present throughout the whole story; with some sentences being repeated on every page. This makes the book a great book to read aloud to children as a rhythm is created when read aloud. This book is suitable for Key Stage One children.
The illustrations are evidently hand drawn and are somewhat rough around the edges. The colours displayed in the book are not vivid; rather cool and faded. Nonetheless, the illustrations are great.

I am fond of boating, and I am continuously called Claire Bear, so it was only a matter of time before I picked this E book up to more deeply appreciate the artwork.

Oh, the author is from Northern Ireland! How about that.

So although few other reviewers seem to have approved as much, I really liked this book when I picked it up today.

"Sailor Bear" is an adventurous small bear on a journey to find items of his size. He is curious and puts his mind to what he wants to do. I would share this with young children to teach them about determination.

A cross between Sailor Dog and Corduroy, though not nearly as fulfilling as either.

I saved this book from weeding at the library because I couldn't bear (get it? hee hee!) to see it go. I love this little bear and all his adventures. Kids seem to like him, too.

This came with a set of very small picture books - perfect to take on holiday for bedtime stories, or for pretending they are books for bears when teaching at Honey School.
