One of the most feared terror attack scenarios involves the detonation of a weapon that generates a powerful electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that immediately renders power circuits, computers, even automobiles useless. But what if a weapon was discharged that, in addition to all the above, also erased people’s memories? Would mankind, given a fresh start, continue on its path to self-destruction? Or would it, free of its preconceptions, usher in a new age of peace? Amnesia explores what might happen if someone were to push the restart button on the human race.
This is a very imaginative vision of an EMP weapon detonation and what might happen to civilization. It focuses on one family and their search for and re-discovery of their past and hope for the future. It has a great twist at the end...It is sort of post-apocolyptic but also appropriate for all age readers. I love the story and the art.
It's an interesting premise: everyone wakes up with amnesia after an EMP bomb went off. Our protagonist soon discovers he was involved in the creation of the bomb, but has no memory.
I think it needed some more editing though. There was a lot of pointless exposition. It would have been nice to have had more mystery. The ending seemed rushed. What was told in 10 pages should have either been spread out or executed much differently.
Awesome story with passable art. This is one of those graphic novels you read and wonder "Why didn't anyone make THIS movie yet?" I was damn impressed and would love to see this made one day.
The idea is strong (society ends with an EMP pulse that removes everyone's memories). The execution is poor, needing more of an editor's pen on it. The art is not good. I'd love to see a second try at this.
