I got this at the Cville book sale and thought it was so cute lol. Def doesn’t go super deep but Eric and I would read one page every time we had dinner together and it was sweet that it was cat themed haha :)

This book was a gift to me from my Mother. It is a book of reflections and devotionals that encourage the reader to observe the antics, behaviors, and habits of a cat; all to gain their wisdom. The title is definitely catchy, and I liked all the magnets that were included with the book. My favorite part of the book was all the quotes. This one is particular really struck me:

"You will always be lucky if you know how to make friends with strange cats." -American Proverb

*Clutching my heart* This quote meant a lot to me because I am always trying to befriend cats. Whether they be friends'/families' cats or strays hanging around the dumpster outside my apartment. Now I don't remember the exact words, so I will summarize how the author compared befriending a stray cat, to going with God.

Basically, just as a stray cat cowers and is in fear of a strange human, those who do not follow God may cower and be afraid to reach out to him, even though he is always there for us. Like a stray cat, it sometimes takes time to feel comfortable, but eventually the cat is given a warm home, food, and love. The author compared this to a person who finally goes with God, and is given blessings in return.

Overall, a very nice collection of quotes and inspirational passages, best enjoyed in the company of a cat.

These poems and anecdotes are brilliantly balanced with related reflections, which show us how we can take inspiration from our furry friends' habits. Perfect for light bedtime reading and meditation.
