Skye Langford leads an ordinary life, navigating the challenges of raising her teenage son after losing her husband suddenly five years prior. For most of her life, she has longed for Mark, a man she’s always been told she cannot have. As she begins seeing splashes of color, hues she’s been blind to her entire life, her feelings for Mark return after decades of submerging them. As the forgotten hues bleed further into her world, she will come to see that she is far from ordinary, that Mark is not the man she thought he was, and the reality that’s been blinding her is hiding a truth that will shake her perception of that reality to the core.

The Unbound Kingdom trilogy, a spin-off from the Unbound Prophecy series will release beginning in June 2022.
I don’t read this genre often, but I liked what read in this book. There’s great world building that allowed me to paint a good picture in my mind for the visuals of the characters and their environments. Just enough details without getting trivial. The dynamic between Mark and Slye is palpable and extremely steamy. I loved that it was in POV form because it gives you a sense of being in their head and getting a sneak peek into how and what they’re thinking. The world building details were excellent and put me right there with Skye. As always, I am voluntarily leaving an honest review after receiving an advance review copy.
