In an easy-to-read version of the ancient Greek legend, a dashing prince and a brave princess must join forces to defeat the monster in the maze and save the children of Athens. Simultaneous.
This is the watered down version of the Minotaur and Theseus story where everyone lives happily ever after. My 6 year old enjoyed this read aloud. He liked the simple pictures, including a map of the ship sailing from Athens, Greece to Crete. This book also features pronunciation keys for hard-to-read Greek names, which is perfect for this leveled easy reader.
A beginner story, does what it is supposed to. The pronunciation for some of the Greek names was very helpful and the map that shows Athens and Crete. It's a watered down, happy story, but it's geared towards children learning to read, so it is to be expected.
Shorter version of Theseus and the Minotaur, but the pictures are terrible and the story isn't accurate. The princess doesn't marry Thesues. . . Read the Hero and the Minotaur instead if you have the time.
