Belle Walker lives in a strict society where women are treated as property, sold to the highest bidder soon after their eighteenth birthday. But the auction isn’t the only danger. Though she’s never seen them, she knows monsters live outside the city. “I knew I picked the right one.”

You think you know what The Auction is about, but you don't. Come into a world where there are monsters that live just outside the walls, in a time years ahead forced to live by the most basic needs. A place where when women turn eighteen they are auctioned off to the highest bidder, but the auction to them is what we would consider a marriage; only the women doesn't get a choice unless their family has deep pockets and can arrange the winner. Annabelle Walker has no money but hoping that the blow jobs would suffice as payment for her plan she has formulated for one man to "win" her while she makes her rebellious self less desirable to all others.

It all would have gone according to plan except when a stranger places a bid rivaling her choices bid and has has no intention of losing, scared and excited of the possibilities... until the winner is uncloaked and shows who he truly is. The monsters from the other side of the wall have never attended an Auction, but it seems the females of their kind is dying off and they need to repopulate. Just because he has won, doesn't mean she will go willingly, she has too much fire and rebellion under her skin to just comply.
My eyes met his. “I will fight you, and I will run. And unless you kill me, some day I will escape. Count on it.”

He shook his head. “I’m not sure whether I find you stupid or endearing.”

Alone and trapped in a cave, with her Master and his brother, they begin to break her in to their way of life. Belle learns her place as she heals, with her determination to leave becoming less and less of a urgency.
I was kept in a constant erotically buzzed state, so desperate to please them both, to come, to be used by them, I would have forgotten my own name had they not used it regularly when speaking to me.

Belle was conditioned to crave her Master and her Sir's pleasure, and when the time came that Sir would find his own mate, she would have to learn to share amongst them all. What happens when the life you live contradicts every right or wrong you have been taught, do you run or do you bask in the pleasures offered???

I honestly shouldn't be surprised, Kitty French has a gift of making what we are told is "wrong", right. Going into the book, I didn't really know what to expect except my own beliefs will be challenged. I never really apply my rights and wrongs to a book, because really who am I to judge, everyone's sense of right and wrong is so different. So there is only one thing left to do with this book, let go, enjoy and accept it for what it is. In the end, it all made sense and what they shared is beautiful and meaningful in its own way. I truly enjoy reading her books, they are unconventional in the sense of it not being sunshine and daises, but there was some sweetness in a Master/Slave kinda way. Told from Belle's POV, there is M/F/M, M/F, F/F and punishment & training scenes. Recommended read for sure.

Easy to read, a bit dark, although it was like I was reading a fairy tale about two likeable monsters and a girl from our planet about her self discovery with some alien sex...
I’d given myself over to the wildness. I guess it was my new way of fighting back. Becoming determined to enjoy myself so they couldn’t break me to the point where I couldn’t escape later. If I reveled in it, I remained in control. At least in my own mind, even if nowhere else.

It's a short story, so there wasn't time for character development or a deeper plot, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

SWEET JESUS! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!

You know what, I didn't even read the blurb for this book before starting it. I looked at the cover and said to myself: "Cool! Kitty Thomas has written about slavery and women being sold at auctions! This should be interesting."

And I was right. It was interesting. But WAY MORE interesting then I could have ever imagined...

So apparently humans moved from Earth in groups to different planets in the future and Annabelle Walker lives in one of these distant planets in a community, but she is on her own, because her parents have been killed by "monsters" outside the city years ago. These monsters allow humans to live in that small city in peace, never bothering them or coming in the city, as long as the humans never get out.

In the society Belle lives in, it is custom that women are auctioned off to the highest bidder after their 18th birthday. Now it's Belle's turn. She's been trying to make an impression as a trouble-maker, so that no one bids on her. Except for this one guy that she's been pleasuring for 2 years, making sure he buys her when the time comes. If everything goes according to plan, at least she'll be the slave of someone she knows...

When a mysterious hooded stranger in the shadows outbids the guy Belle has been preparing herself for, she thinks nothing worse could possibly happen. She is wrong, though. Things get much worse when the stranger reveals himself...

Meet Master.

Master is one of the "monsters" that live outside the city. He is a dragon-winged alien. He wants a mate for himself, so he has broken the promise with the humans, entering the city and attending the auction.

"Annabelle."

He spoke my full name, tasting it in his mouth. From him, it sounded like both a blessing and a curse, a sunny afternoon and a devastating windstorm at once.

Afraid of both this creature and her instant arousal at the first sight of him, Belle tries running away. Of course the alien flies and catches her in mere seconds. He takes her to his cave, high in the mountains, where he lives with his brother.

Meet Master's brother, Sir.

Apparently, the females of their kind have been near extinction and these two horny-heads need mates for obvious reasons.

The interesting thing is, there is a custom in the alien society of theirs, entitling them to share their mates with other family members and that the female has to be penetrated by someone else in the family before her mate, as tradition.

So Belle is forced to have sex with Sir first, getting punished by Master when she first refuses to do it. Belle is Master's mate and Sir's "plaything" from that day on. After some time, she accepts her fate and the fact that she is attracted to the alien brothers, trying to enjoy being their sex slave.

"Make tears for me, Annabelle. I want to see them."

My God, everything in this book was so...

...but I enjoyed reading it, like I always do when it's something Kitty Thomas wrote.

You need to have a strong stomach for this one. Just saying...

Finally, here's my favourite lines from the book:

When you really thought about it, crying was a rather bizarre thing for any creature to be capable of. What purpose did it serve other than revealing too much?

I didn't read the description of this book before reading it, so I had no idea what it was all about. I liked the cover and had heard good things about Kitty Thomas' erotica.

Submissive

I basically went in blind because I loved the idea of a female being auctioned. I had fantasized that the female on the cover would be auctioned off and find true love. This book kinda blew me away because it was erotic in so many ways.

girls kissing

If you love sci-fi, dominant alien alphas, erotic sex, and enjoy calling your partner Master or Sir...then I strongly recommend you read this novella! It's a 2 hour read and tickles the submissive buried deep within me.

I just finished reading this book. For those of us who like to read about complete unadulterated submission, this will absolutely tickle your southward fancy. Personally, I need a story to show a tiny bit of submission or maybe compromise on the part of the Dominant male showing a love or gratefulness for the submission on the part of the sub female. Golly I never knew I thought that much about it. Somebody get me a therapist while I on a roll. Anyway I would like a bit more affection in a story to really get my socks flapping up-and-down. I'm glad I read it though and I recommend it to thoase of us who like monster erotic reads and sub/dom/punish/pain/maso/menage. Ehem!...I gave it 5 stars because the book delivers well. It's not the book it's just me.

As my re-read and my first alien sex story, I really enjoyed it. Yay!

description

The Auction takes place on somewhere in fantasy world where the girls auctioned to the highest bidder. Annabelle Walker has made an exchange with blow job and someone with money to freed her in the end. But it didn't go according to her plan. The 'monster' bought her in the auction because his female species in the purge of extinction. Dramatic much? The world where the humans and monsters live in different soil. The humans always hated them and nobody ever go outside. The red monster who brought her called Master. The blue one who turns out to be his twin called Sir. Even Annabelle is Master's property, he always shared with his brother until Sir found his true mate.

Why oh why... This has a very interesting story. Captivated me for the first time. I know it is weird to called the aliens with Master and Sir. I think it was an analogy. True submission what is this about. They're building trust with slow burn chemistry. There is saying, A monster lives in every man. I guess that is Master and Sir in here. Not literally monster with claw and 'weird' physical. It just in every man has a bit dark side.

There is nothing unpleasant here. For me, The relationship is more M/s with Master. It was raw, intense but beautiful. Annabelle couldn't deny the feeling with Master and it was fascinating. She supposed to run away from this monsters but somehow her submission is deeper than the purpose.

Overall, it was a quick read and nicely written. Their sex journey needs more longer to explore. Too rushed. However, F/F scene is a turn off fir me. Of course, the ending... *Pfft* left me hanged and unsatisfied. I know that I have to question every ending in Kitty Thomas' story.

I didn't think it was possible to find a Kitty Thomas book that I didn't like, but we have a winner...err a loser... Oh! I don't want to say it, but I did not like THE AUCTION at all. I thought Kitty could make me like aliens, but not even she could do it!

I am sorry my dear Kitty, as much as it pains me to say it, this was not one of my favorites.

The Auction takes place on a distant unnamed planet. Annabelle Walker has been on her own ever since her parents were killed by the monsters “out there” years prior. As a part of their society the humans auction off every young woman when she turns eighteen. This is a way for the city to make money to buy supplies from transport ships. Belle’s turn has come up and she is up on the block. She has been working on and pleasuring Stephen Thurman for over 2 years in hopes that he will keep his promise to buy her at the auction and then set her free. Belle is known as a feisty, trouble-maker so no one else bids on her except for Stephen until a mysterious hooded stranger makes an offer and outbids him.

After he pays for Annabelle, the stranger reveals himself to the shock and horror of everyone. He is one of the dragon-winged aliens that inhabit this distant planet. He has come into the city for the first time to buy himself a mate. Belle is both afraid and aroused but then adrenaline kicks in and she decides to run away. But wait. The alien can fly so of course Belle is captured and then flown away to the alien’s cave dwelling high in the mountains.

Annabelle is told to call him Master. He lives with his brother who she is told to call Sir. In this alien society the males share their mates amongst family members and Sir gets the first chance to sex up Belle. Does she consent to this? No. But she doesn’t really have a choice. She worked so hard to gain her freedom and avoid enslavement only to find herself in the service of two aliens.

“Why didn’t you go with my brother?” His voice came out a snarl. What was I supposed to say to that? I just looked at the ground.

“Answer me!”

His shout pissed me off and suddenly the intensity of my anger matched his own.
“What do you mean why didn’t I go to him? Why didn’t I just go and rip off my clothes and throw myself at the strange alien guy with wings and a cock too big for me? Because I’m not crazy?”

“It’s not too big for you. I know you can take it.”

I put my hands over my ears and squeezed my eyes shut because something in his voice was turning me on, and I knew that wasn’t’ the appropriate response. These were monsters that were going to kill me.
~ Master & Annabelle

Annabelle is Master’s mate but she is also Sir’s plaything. She is attracted to both brothers especially Master and slowly, over time she accepts her fate and begins to enjoy her role as their slave. I can’t tell you about all the kinky things that happened in the cave. You’ll have to read the story to get all those hot, steamy, sexy, delicious details. I will tell you that it filled my smut fix perfectly.

Kitty Thomas’ writing is superb as always. I usually fall in love with her twisted, depraved heroes but not so much with Master and Sir. I mean, I liked Sir who was the “nicer one” of the two brothers and I liked the sadistic Master even more. But I wasn’t in love with them. The nice brother had blue skin and the mean brother had red skin. I’m not sure why but that made me laugh. The sci-fi was very light in this story. I’m not a huge fan of aliens but dragon-winged heroes make me swoon, especially when they use their wings to protect their mates. As is my usual gripe with novellas, this story wasn’t long enough. I’m left with questions about the humans’ and aliens’ back story and I would have liked to see Master’s and Annabelle’s relationship expanded. Sequel, please?!

So, the story is this: The main female character, who I cannot think about without an internal eye roll,

 photo tumblr_mlopaqdbeK1s75usvo1_250_zpssbo3f3sb.gif

...is a human who lives on a planet distant from Earth with other humans. They all live in a society where the people sell their women in order to make money for their community. The main character is sold to an alien and taken away by him, fucked by him, and fucked over by him. I say this last part because I honestly can't believe she, at the end, didn't acknowledge that she was getting the short end of the stick in every. single. way. I mean, come on, her alien "master" making her sleep on the floor? Clawing her back? Insulting the human race? Yeah, nope.

 photo 1061_zpsxpmvupsb.gif

I don't find any of that rubbish hogwash balderdash poppycock twaddle attractive or sexy. Why, do you?

I do not care what the popular opinion of this author of this book is; I do not like what she writes. At all. I've read "Comfort Food" and disliked that book, I've read "Blood Mate" and disliked that just the same, and I've read this one and not only dislike it, but hate it. I'm not going to read another one of her books. For anyone who is not turned on by the main character of a story being treated like shit, I do not recommend this book.

I really don't have much to say about this book except that Kitty shouldn't write about alien submission.

Hell we all have our bad days and probably this was one of Kitty's bad days, because I normally enjoy her books.

I think for now I'm gonna stay away from this type of Erotica!!

I really did not expect to like this one.

I saw this on many lists on Goodreads and had to know what it was all about. BDSM is one of those topics I tend to turn away from. In many ways I'm like the main female Belle in this book, in that I am stubborn to a fault, unable at times to back down even when I know I'm fighting a losing battle. Add control issues with that stubbornness and I can't reconcile the idea of coming under heel of any person, much less expect I could get through more than five pages of a story about it. And yet I did...and enjoyed reading it too. Not only that, I understood Belle's thought process throughout the ordeal, and wondered after awhile why she would not give in.

As stories go, this was a good one, and I found myself wishing that this was a full length novel instead of a novella as there were a lot of things in the background that I wished I had more details about. Still, I think this was as much of the BDSM subject as I could take. I hear Kitty Thomas' other stories are more hardcore, and I don't think I can handle them. But who knows? I thought the same thing about this story.

Like I said, I really didn't expect to like this one, and yet I really, really did. What that says about my psyche, I really don't know. I'm off to go find a therapist to find out.

Another great read by Kitty Thomas. Surprisingly, I wasn't dissapointed by the length. Did I want more? Yes! Of course. I can never get enough of Kitty Thomas. However, It's great the way it is as well.
The Auction is quick, to the point, and unique. Plus, it has interspecies sex, which is growing on me. It's fun to see the different ways authors go about making it happen.
I think my favorite part of the story is the thought process behind all the actions. For being a short work 'The Auction' has just as much phycology as her other works, imo. Also, the world building was great! That tends to be missing in alot of short stories/novellas. But not this one! I love the world she created. It would be great to read more stories from Thomas based on this world. I can only hope. :D

Enjoy!

I usually a Kitty Thomas fan. This book, I still enjoyed and I loved the dragon men. My biggest complaint was that it was way too short. I wanted more. The sex was hot. I loved the menage of M/f/f. It would have been hot to read in detail the M/f/M. But, I'll take what I can get.

The premise of this book was interesting. I wish there was more back history. I'm hoping there are more stories that follow this one. Overall, it was a concise and fast read. There were no wasted words and every scene had a purpose. I recommend this to people who are okay with animalistic humanoids having sex with females who are slaves. Very light BDSM ~ not sugarkink though.

well what to say ... I'm not in the "You're Dom and I'm sub" kind of books. But I have to say this one is well written, and the plot is good.

still, there are some details I didn't like :
- the fact as they have no name, just master and sir ... it's too easy
- the first punishment Master gave to his human mate... :/
- the end, we don't know what happen "after". I'would have liked to know what happen, if they were happy, if master told his mate he love her, if she can be pregnant ... things like that.

Set in an ambiguous future, humanity has left behind the ‘source planet’ and settled in a new and backwards world. Science and technology have regressed, books are artefacts and women are commodities once again. On her eighteenth birthday Annabelle ‘Belle’ Walker, along with other ripe young women, are being auctioned to the highest bidder. Under the pretence of redistributing city funds, nubile young women are put on the block and sold for a price – the lucky ones have family members and lovers who will buy them back and set them free. But for the unlucky sold it’s a life of quiet humiliation . . . or, as Belle is about to discover, something much worse.

Belle’s fiery spirit attracts the wrong sort of buyer – a monster from the city outskirts, a dragon-man with red skin and orange eyes, sharp teeth and an impressive wing-span. Belle is taken back to his cave, where she will pleasure both him and his blue-skinned brother, referring to them as ‘Master’ and ‘Sir’ respectively.

But will this monster be Belle’s end, or will he help set her free?

‘The Auction’ is a new novella from dark literary erotica author, Kitty Thomas.

I love Kitty Thomas. Honestly, she can do no wrong. I haven’t read a novel of hers that I haven’t loved, and ‘The Auction’ is another slice of perfection from her deliciously dark pen.

You wouldn’t know it to look at the beautiful front cover, but ‘The Auction’ is actually a sci-fi/dark erotica novelette. Although this gorgeous renaissance-feel cover doesn’t scream ‘sci-fi’, it actually leads into the world-building of ‘The Auction’. In this indeterminate future, humanity has had to relocate from Earth and in the process society has taken a giant leap backwards. Women are property once again – to be traded and sold according to the gavel of the auctioneer. Thomas does swift world-building and orientation for the reader with regards to this new-world/old-world society – almost conjuring the universe of Joss Whedon’s ‘Firelfy’.

We see this strangely regressed world through the eyes of Belle Walker. She is a young woman who has found fascination in the books of the past, and has come to articulate the auctioning of women as a barbaric and bizarre – likening it to virginal sacrifice and debutante balls. Belle has been dreading her auction and has been preparing for her day of sale. She has been strategically pleasuring the city’s richest sons; in the meagre hopes of gaining their coin and her freedom upon purchase. But she doesn’t count on an outskirts monster raising his hand for the highest bid.

When Belle is taken to the monster Master’s cave and introduced to his brother, ‘Sir’ (her other bed-mate) she is shocked, horrified . . . and aroused. These men are dragon-like, with wings, blue and red-tinged skin and reddened eyes. But they are also thoroughly masculine; lean and muscled to perfection. Belle cannot believe the way she wants them, and is willing to succumb to them. Her obvious arousal in captivity perverts her conscience and she wonders if she is losing a bit of her soul and dignity, bit by bit, every time she wantonly and willingly succumbs to these brothers . . .

He loomed, his shadow spreading over me like something that was separately alive and sentient, something that might want to do wicked things with my body. Something I might invite inside.
“Come, now,” he snarled.

I loved the world Kitty Thomas created. It’s a little bit sci-fi, with a touch of historic slavery and plenty of dark erotica. I thought the inclusion of ‘monster masters’ was quite ingenious – so often in Kitty’s works the dominant (human) male is bordering on demonic (‘Comfort Food’, being a prime example). But in ‘The Auction’ the heroine’s sexual partners are, literally, monsters – and one of them even has a devilish resemblance. It’s a nice bit of fantasy to play with. And, this being a Kitty Thomas novel(la); the sex scenes are divinely delicious. This is a short story, 20000 words, but she takes the time to write languorous and decadently-detailed sex scenes that will leave readers sizzling.

My only complaint about ‘The Auction’ is that it was too short! I wanted more, more, more! I would love to read another novella set in this universe (perhaps revisiting the monster family?) or even a full-length novel set in the same world. ‘The Auction’ was another lovely bit of sexy-sinister writing from the darkly talented erotica author, Kitty Thomas.

This time Ms. Thomas takes us to an alien world and a whole new alien race to experience her special brand of erotic slavery.

Annabelle or Belle as she prefers, lives in a society where ladies are auctioned off on their 18th birthday. Belle thinks she has an easy out, get a shill to bid for her and then let her go back to her own life. Before that can happen, a member of the other race on their planet puts in a bid and wins Belle for his own. The other race is totally unfamiliar to Belle, as they have almost no contact with humans.

Belle winds up in the cave with her buyer and his brother, respectively Master and Sir. There are several missteps along the road to Belle's acceptance of her new life. There is confusion about the physical limits of humans vs the aliens and as always in Ms. Thomas's work, the final acceptance in Belle's own mind of her longing to truly be a slave.

Ms. Thomas' ladies usually come to accept their slave status with a great deal of thought provoking honesty and willingness to face who they really are, she hasn't short changed the reader in this story and you do feel Belle's emotions and fears like you are right there with her. The depiction of Belle's thoughts and feelings as she comes to terms with her new life are written with Ms. Thomas' usual skill and delicate precision. The glimpse Ms. Thomas gives us of alien culture and thoughts really pulls the story above the usual and makes you want to know more.

This short novella is probably the most explicitly erotic of Ms. Thomas's work so far. The scene's are detailed and descriptive. There is some girl on girl in the story, so if your a jealous bitch and don't like to share, either gird your loins or skip this one. This story is a worthy addition to the Kitty Thomas collection of work, it isn't as emotive as her previous ones, but the erotica is hot and the characters are compelling and it is a great short enjoyable read.

“Our kind has always shared mates because it causes all the males in the family to become strongly attached to all the females, encouraging us to equally protect them all.

Annabelle compares the auctions of her society to dowries that used to trade hands in former times, with the exemption that the acquired payment goes into the societies treasury. Mostly the girls are being bought to be set free but Annabelle is bought by a red monster like dragon, Master, to be his mate. She is brought to his cave to be his but also to be a toy for his brother, Sir.
Sir gets his own mate, Lily, at the same auction. Both women will be toys for both brothers buy they will be the property of their respective owners.
The story has a comfortable flow, some hard to imagine sex scenes, but I can see the beauty of a monster somewhat falling for a human. At least I think Master has......

I enjoyed this paranormal BDSM linked and almost romance! This is my first Kitty Thomas story read but I enjoyed the psychology of it. From Annabelle realising that she is with intelligent creatures alien to her species, bought at auction for sexual purpose and use to her preconceived notions gradually changing; despite a panic bout of rebellion and escape. Then acceptance of her life and sexuality with Master and Sir and that it's okay to just to be, accept her sexuality with them to experience and enjoy. Even accept and help another human girl into the fold and share her with her Master but the security she got when realization hit her that she was Master's was lovely. English standard good. Just 4 stars. Enough enjoyment to buy her other books.

This story was disjointed and didn't make much sense to me. I think the author was trying to write a short sci-fi erotica story with BDSM elements but there were pretty big leaps from the auction scene, to the lair of the new owner, the 'dragon' characteristics of the creatures on the outside. It just felt like there were a whole bunch of unfinished ideas all thrown together.

short read from miss Thomas. This book wasn't as appealing to me as her others. Maybe it was because the girls seemed so young. I did love sir and masters. I would of like to have s had a bit more world building. The world idea intrigued me and will there be inter species breeding??? Anyway I still enjoyed this book, love me some dark erotica.

Choppy or no transitions. The idea for the story was interesting, however, it didn't seem like there was a connection with the characters. It was written in, but the feeling wasn't there.
Ended like falling off a cliff (insert giggle here) I didn't find the sex scenes appealing, for me they seemed cold.

Solid 4 stars

A fast read ( only took me 2 hours) but a good story and good insight from the main female character. Kinda crazy with the monsters thrown in there, but that just made it all the more interesting.... Wish it was longer :)

I didn't even read the blurb for this book before starting it.
If you love sci-fi, dominant alien alphas, erotic sex

It's a little on the odd side, but still a fun read.A really good short dark erotica.. with Aliens..
